“idyllic and stylish retreat”
Reviewed 10 January 2018 for a stay in June 2017

wow,

What a place. We felt immediately relaxed the moment we arrived. I was travelling with girlfriends for a much needed catch up. Les rives more than exceeded our expectations ! Rebecca had left us a complimentary welcome pack and we really enjoyed the wines and cheese whilst we wandered the grounds taking it all in. Beds are super comfortable and it was fantastic to have proper feather pillows and lovely crisp linens instead of the usual lumpy pillows and cheap sheets you get with most rentals. The pool is stunning and at night we really enjoyed lying on the daybed, candles lit, enjoying the river. Ive never stayed in a rental with so much kitchen equipment ! we had fantastic dinners under the pergola with amazing produce bought at St. Foy market. Bergerac and St. Emilion were the only places we actually got out too - very beautiful and fantastic restaurant recommendations by Rebecca but its hard to leave Les Rives once you arrive. We cant wait to make it a yearly stay :-)

I have stayed at Les Rives many times over the last couple of years and have to say it is utterly fabulous. The decor is luxurious and comfortable and every detail has been well thought. The outside area with pool, dining and relaxing is stunning beyond belief. I will be visit again soon.

“Idyllic french chateau. Beautiful setting with great surroundings.”
Reviewed 14 October 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Les Rives was an excellent basis for our family visit with friends. With it being our first visit to France we were novices to the French way of life but loved our holiday which was made special by the beautiful surroundings of Les Rives. The surroundings are breathtaking with views over the Dordogne, the children loved to wave to the canoeists! Rebecca was more than accommodating with any queries responded to quickly and a well thought of welcome basket! We enjoyed working our way through the games and books whilst enjoying a glass of wine after a day of sightseeing. We would definitely recommend Les Rives as a luxury break in France.

The photos of Les Rives do not do it justice. WE arrived Saturday evening to the most welcome sight. Everything was perfectly arranged and there were treats left for us including general provisions, pizza, yoghurt, cheese, bread, milk and pastries for the morning. We settled down to our chilled bottle of local sparkling Crement left for us and explored. The river is almost hypnotic and we even managed a short boat ride with children before the sun went down !
The bedrooms were fantastic - all smelling heavenly and stocked with lovely Cowshed products. One thing we really appreciated was that there was no expense spared on bedlinen. No ikea to be found and fantastically comfy beds. My husband enjoyed his time in the kitchen (his domain !) with every piece of cooking equipment imaginable !
All in all our week was very special, the surroundings are so tranquil and the river was fascinating ! the children loved waving bonjour to all the canoeists gliding past and also the beautiful swans. We had some great day trips to St. Emillion and Bordeaux and Rebeccas market and restaurant recommendations were spot on.
we are all still talking about how perfect it all was and look forward to returning for many years to come
