Even though this is classified as a budget hotel, don't be fooled into thinking its average or below. The staff were very friendly, the rooms were spacious and hot, and the free breakfast was plentiful and good. Great location. 10 minutes from Reykjavik, and 35-45 mins from the airport.

Stayed here for 4 nights, and it was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Although it's not in the city, it's a great bargain. Took bus 1 to Reykjavik so very accessible. The place was clean and the food was great. Great place to stay, had a great experience!

This Hotel is about 20 minutes outside of the city but there is a bus stop outside and the buses are frequent and easy to understand. The Hotel was clean, comfortable and spacious and the reception staff very responsive to our many questions and requests. I would stay again.

If IKEA did hotels, then this would be one of them. It is a comfortable, if somewhat functional, hotel which more than met our needs after long days touring around. Worthy of particular mention are the staff who were, without exception, very welcoming, friendly and helpful. A nice stay!
The hotel is on the main road between Reykjavik and Hafnarfjordur and lies on the main bus route between the two towns. There are bus stops just outside the hotel and the number 1 bus (Express) runs regularly. I would strongly recommend that you ask the Hotel Receptionist to write down the name of the bus stop outside the hotel as it comes up quickly and is easily missed. The ride into Hafnarfjordur is approximately 10 minutes, whilst it is a 25 minute ride into Reykjavik. There is a very large Shopping Mall on the road to Reykjavik which is served by the local bus and is approximately 15 minutes from the hotel. We were picked up and/or dropped off at the hotel by coaches and the airport transfer bus. The location of the hotel is actually advantageous as it is generally the last pick up and first drop off point for airport transfers, Blue Lagoon & Golden Circle tours and Northern Lights (drop off only).
Obviously, the hotel is a little out of the way but is well served by local amenities, including chain restaurants such as Taco Bell and KFC, a Chinese restaurant and some more localised burger / diner restaurants. There is a supermarket within 5 minutes walk of the hotel and a couple of bars, including an English Pub showing Football, again within 5 – 10 minutes’ walk. These are quite functional places, providing the key basics without too much glitz but, as we were out all day and just wanted somewhere to eat or drink without too much fuss, they suited our purposes very well.
The hotel itself is warm and welcoming. The public areas are pleasant enough with a minimal bar and lounge area which is designed more as a reception than a communal area (good for a quick drink but not for any long periods). The notice boards/ information corners contain a huge amount of very useful information (bus timetables, touring leaflets, local English speaking newspapers showing Events etc, weather updates and regular information about Northern Lights activity and a good variety of maps of all areas). Walking into the Breakfast room was like walking into one of the show rooms in an IKEA store, right down to the mugs and little ginger biscuits. However, it is spotlessly clean and practical, delivering all that you could want without the frills. Breakfast is self service, served downstairs and consisted of porridge (surprisingly good, so much so that we looked forward to it every morning) and continental breakfast. Coffee, Tea and Juice was freely available. There was always plenty of food at all times and breakfast set us up for the long days ahead.
Our room was a bedroom with a fully fitted out kitchenette (full sized kitchen sink, 2 ring electric hob, micro-wave plus full size toaster, kettle and fridge, enough crockery and cutlery for two, corkscrew and bottle openers etc). This would be useful for families/young children, particularly with the supermarket being so close, or those just wanting to blip out after a long day. The room itself was a good size, was very clean and well heated by a large radiator. There is a good sized wardrobe and the bed was comfortable. Efficient double glazing meant we slept well despite the proximity to the main road. The room also has a TV with limited channels and reception. This is more than balanced out by the free Wi-Fi which was very useful. Clean bathroom, shower only, and towels provided.

The hotel picture is the main building. But my wife and I allocated to T10, another builing with about 100 meters away. I was not happy with that arrangement at first moment. Then we changed our mind when entering T10. We love it. The room was spacious with 3 beds. Both bed room and bathroom had big windows. A full kitchen was right opposit our room and quite convenient to cook and make tea. The only thing was the price is not cheap in summer time, the travel season, but acceptable.

Room Tip: Book T10 if you want to cook yourselves.

We stayed here for two nights. The room was pleasant and a good size, as was the bathroom. We had a car and there was plenty of parking.

There is a buffet style breakfast and the reception is open 24/7. So you can check in anytime.

I thought this hotel offered good value for money.

cheaper then all the hotels in Reykjavik - but you have to take a taxi to the center - clean and big rooms. When the school classes invaded the breakfast room you will have the Reykjavik night weekend feeling :-).

Room Tip: rooms to the back - not against street - are quiet.
