“Great nest to land if arriving late at night!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 March 2014

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ace Guesthouse. The owner was there to meet us when we got in at ~1am and all the guests were quiet and respectful coming in late at night so it was not noisy. The house is very clean and beautifully furnished in a clean, modern style. When you enter the house, there is a living area and kitchen/dining area and the rooms are on the sides. We had huge picture windows in our big bedroom from which we could see the ocean. We also had heavy drapes to block out the light for sleeping. The bed was huge and comfortable. The room we had used a shared bathroom which was also very clean and well stocked with towels and other items. The breakfast was typical Scandinavian with tons of choices for muesli, fruit, cold cuts, cheeses, yoghurt (they have a special very tasty yoghurt in Iceland) and more. Tea and coffee was also available. Everything was laid out or in the fridge so you could help yourself when you got up in the morning. The guesthouse is very convenient (about 10 minute drive) from the airport--so close that when the rental car company failed to have a car ready for us when we arrived, they agreed to take us to the guesthouse using the shuttle van. The owner was very nice and runs a beautiful guesthouse. He also takes credit card for payment for the rooms. There were also some cute homemade crafts including knit hats. Even in the summer it was quite cold so if you didn't bring a warm hat, you could get a cute pink owl hat.

Room Tip: There is an en-suite room available that is tucked away in the back and would offer more privacy if...

Stayed here before leaving for early flight home. Had trouble locating it, phoned owner who came out to find us and show us the way. Lovely comfortable double room. We were even offered some homemade chocolate cake on returning from dinner - just lovely! Would recommend to anyone. Only minor complaint was the room was very hot and there was no way controlling temperature that we could see other than opening window which didn't help.

Very handy for the airport and the churning owner will drive you in for a nominal fee. Spotless room and shower with very comfortable beds and free wifi. multichannel tv with channels in English. generous cold breakfast buffet in the room. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Very clean and decent guesthouse. We stayed here for one night just to be near to the AirPort as our flight was scheduled for take off at 7:00 AM. Spacious beds and view overlooking the city valley. Friendly host. Sufficient breakfast facilities with tea, coffee, toast, cheese, preservatives and cereals.

Perfect, close to the airport and also the town. Had a room with a 6 foot double bed, own toilet and shared showing facilities. There was a mauve amount of food left in out room for breakfast which included banana bread (delicious) bread, bananas, yoghurt, biscuits and a selection of spreads and teas. Definitely a great place to stsy and will stay here again when I visit iceland again.

Wonderful modern guesthous. Friendly host was up at midnight to meet us and even let us use the hot tub. Perfect after being stuck on a plane for hours. Comfortable beds and a comprehensive breakfast topped it off. No complaints here, it's a truly great b&b!

This is a lovely guest house, very clean and ideal for an overnight stay for the airport. The owner can't do enough for you and is really welcoming. Kitchen is great and we were offered hot drinks and cookies. A great end to a great trip. Highly recommended.
