We walked to the sun voyager at midnight. Easy to find in the harbour area. Was light enough for flash free photography!

A really unique sculpture, we happened upon it while walking into Reykjavik. (Twice) as it's right on the coast line and luckily just as 3 tourist buses were leaving so we ended up with a nice photo or two, but not much else to see near it. No need to plan to go there, it's near Harpa and downtown, you'll probably end up there anyway.

That's it. If there is no sunset, it's not worth a detour.
The viking boat metal sculpture is nice, but a 5 minute walk from everything else.

You may pass this on your tour bus and think you can check it on your list of 'Things to see in Reykjavik', but to experience it, you need to get off the bus, walk around it, touch it, see the sun glinting on it from different angles, then imagine yourself sailing away on it. Where to? That is the magic of the sculpture, you may go anywhere your dreams will take you - you can not read the inscription from the bus, which explains this.

Has a strong Danish influence. Poised along a very nice waterfront path. Works out very well as an object of interest in waterfront photos.
