The apartment is lovely, located very close to the city centre and near the ocean. The beds were very comfortable and all the basic utilities were provided. According the cost we paid for the apartment i am sure it is the set we could get.

We thought we had booked an apartment, but instead got a very small room in a basement with a view of a wall with graffiti. If you want to make breakfast from your bed, this is the place for you. This was more a hostel than a luxury apartment. The tv was comedy, 6 channels, 3 blank, one with no sound, a phone in adult chat line, plus E4.
We had already paid for a return visit and were dreading it, but this time we did get an apartment. This was fine and just what we thought we were getting the first time.
All in all the photos were misleading and if you are unlucky enough to get a basement room, especially the smallest one with no separate kitchen, get ready to spend a lot of time out, as you will not want to spend any time in your room.

Room Tip: Don't go for a studio, only book the one bed apartments. Avoid the basement.

First the positive things:
* The hotel is nicely located close to the start of the main street.
* The hotel manager kindly accepted to change our reservation only one week before our stay (but in exchange we got "downgraded" to semi-underground floor for one night during our stay)
* Thinking the Reykjavik hotel prices, it was moderately priced

Unfortunately there were more negative things:
* The floor was dirty. It felt all the time that our feet got sticked to the floor. We sent information about this to hotel manager who promised that it will be fixed. A woman came to see in the afternoon if floor had been cleaned and promised to inform "girls" about it. The floor was never cleaned.
* Our room was relatively small. Kitchenette didn't invite to cook anything.
* The soundproof is inadequate - you hear every single car from outside, steps from corridor, when someone is in bathroom and so on.

Room Tip: try to get room from one of the upper levels (note: there's no elevator) or at least from courty...

The outside makes you wonder but inside these apartments are spotless, compact, modern and well laid out with comfortable beds. We had a basement apartment which was small but included the kitchenette and was quite particularly over the weekend when I gather it can get noisy in the city. They are set back from the main street but close enough to be within walking distance of the city center and also a couple of restaurants. We found the Roadhouse to do good burgers only a street away. The key system worked well and it was there waiting for us when we arrived. I would recommend for couples - if you like the reception/concierge treatment this is not for you as they apartments are not staffed, for everyone else a great value deal in Iceland.

I would have scored higher if there had been a little feed back via email as I was arriving quite late in the evening as mentioned on my booking and had no idea how to contact anyone on arrival, however someone happened to be leaving as I arrived and showed me my room key. The room was a little damp and the TV was small with only a couple of channels. The bed was very comfortable and the location to 101 (main high street) very good. Bathroom very big and clean but the sink was slightly blocked. Fire exits good, and cooking facilities good. If it was a little cheaper would consider staying again.

After staying in a much nicer (and cheaper!) apartment with another company a few days earlier, we were let down by how beat up this place looked. Big stains on the couches, deep scratches in the floor, empty nails on the walls where someone had removed (stolen?) the decor, cracked windows "repaired" with duct tape. Add on top of that the fact that it was across the street from an active construction zone that started work early in the morning and the fact that it was a bit farther (15-20 minutes) to walk to the center of the city than our previous place, and we were glad we were only staying for one night. At least the staff was friendly.

Einholt apartment is rather nice place to stay. I was surprised by the system of check-in - indeed there is nobody at reception desk. If you booked an apartment - they leave a key and you are welcome. Room design is really attractive, especially I liked the bed, there is also a small kitchen inside the room with everything you may need to cook (as it is an apartment - of course there is no any cafes or canteen and conformably no breakfasts in the mornings. An apartment is vast, bathroom is also in excellent condition. I think it may be a good variant for couple!
