What a great place. When you enter you feel like an old friend. Everyone is so warm and friendly. We had the shellfish soup.
OMGif is delicious, the broth is unbelievable. My husband had his soup in the bread bowl, the bread is outstanding. There are free waffles, and all sorts of goodies. Macaroons and chocolate cake squares, take as much as you want. They also offer seconds. Forget the Michelin restaurants, this is the place to be. When we left the owner ca,e out to say good bye. If I lived here, I’d eat here almost daily

My family and I loved eating here! They loved the « fisherman’s favorite » which was a dish made of mashed potatoes and fish- sounds gross but even my sister who doesn’t like fish loved it! Not fishy at all. They also loved both the lamb and the seafood soup. The place has free desserts around the place (coconut macaroons were my favorite, they also had carrot cake and brownies!) and free refills of whatever you get to eat- so crazy! We got a refill of both of the soups. The best part of it all was the environment - waitstaff were super friendly, and we chatted with several of the tables around us. It’s a small place but you’re allowed to take your food and eat it at the larger bar that they also own(has lots of dinner tables) which is two doors down, so dont turn away if there are no tables open! Definitely recommend

This is place worth stopping by in Reykjavik. We were warmly greeted by the man behind the counter when we walked in the door. We had our kids with us and he offered to let us sample the couple of items they had on the menu that day - shell fish soup and a fisherman casserole of sorts (mashed potatoes with fish mixed in). Much to our surprise our kids loved it. The free macaroons on the table were a nice touch for dessert.

The only downside is the space is extremely limited in this small shop so two of us stood and two of us sat on stools. Worth going though because the food was good and the folks behind the counter seem genuinely enthusiastic and welcoming.

Talk about good food and service with a smile, these guys really know how to cater to visitors. The prices are also fairly reasonable. When added to the fact that you can always top-up with a refill, this is a winning combination!

We visited this place based on the great reviews. We tried the fish stew and lamb soup and thoroughly enjoyed both. The free refills were great! They literally will keep bringing you more. They gave us macaroons and offered us free coffee. The owner was friendly and really wanted to be sure everyone was enjoying their experience. The dining room is really not upscale but it was a truly enjoyable experience and we’d recommend it to others for a memorable evening experience.
