“Private Tour and Icelandic Food. How can you go wrong?”
Reviewed 14 March 2012

One of the highlights of our Iceland trip was a Food and Saga tour with Chef Tyffi. Since our tour was on a Sunday, it was set up a little different than his usual tours. We started off with a tour around Reykjavik. We went by the black rocky shores just outside of the city, the presidential estate, the imported white sandy beaches, past Bjork’s house, a grocery store, and then to Tyffi’s house in the suburb of Kopavogur. He had a whole platter of Icelandic starters prepared. Then we had two main courses and two dessert courses. We spent the remainder of our evening visiting with Tyffi and his wife Maria. It is a very non-traditional tour that added a personal touch to our trip. We would not hesitate to take the same tour on our next trip to Iceland.

1) Book early. As soon as you know your dates email Season Tours for availability.
2) Come hungry.
3) Bring your camera.

The tour seems a little pricey at initial glance, but one must consider all of the details that are included. First, pick up from your accommodations, a private tour, and a several course meal prepared in the Chef’s personal kitchen. It really is a deal!

“Do not miss a tour with Gunnsi of Season Tours ...FANTASTIC”
Reviewed 7 March 2012

My husband and I found Gunnsi of Season Tours through tripadvisor. It was the highlight of our trip. Gunnsi picked us up at our hotel and spent the next 8-9 hours guiding us through the Golden Circle and a few mysterious and out of the way places. He has the answers to any question we asked. Not only did he know the extensive hisory he shared many of the "Sagas" of Iceland. He really went out of his way when my camera died and he volunteered to take the rest of our photos for us. At the end of the day we asked if he would recommend a traditional Icelandic restaurant. He did and made reservation for us. Guunsi 3 Frakkar was great! Takk Fyrir, Lauren and Jack Be sure to call Seasons Tours

“Great day, lots of stories from our wonderful guide”
Reviewed 28 February 2012

Myself and my boyfriend took tour with Gunnsi after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor, we were looking for a small tour group and we were lucky enough to be the only 2 on the tour on the day.
Gunnsi took us to see the wonderful sights and was so informative with so much knowledge of the history and mythology of Iceland. He went above and beyond even letting us sample some of his own traditional icelandic food.
If you want a great tour where you're not crammed onto a bus with 30 other people then I'd recommend Season Tours.

“A remarkable new year!”
Reviewed 18 January 2012

We were picked up at our hotel and taken to a venue outside the city. Here we enjoyed some alcohol! followed by delicious fish soup then delectable lamb. Our meal was interrupted when our coach took us a short distance to a local bonfire where we enjoyed the locals' fireworks and enthusiasm. We were returned to the venue by coach where we ate our delicious local sweet, enjoyed further drinks and saw in the new year with pink bubbly. Following this we were mesmerised by the firework display as we looked over the city and surrounds. We learned the next day that Reykjavik set off 600 tons of fireworks that night! A most enjoyable and thoughtfully created evening despite this being the first of its type for the organisers. We were returned, contented, to our hotel by coach.

“Brilliant trips in friendly, comfortable and informed company.”
Reviewed 16 December 2011

We did two tours with Season Tours and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. We went out with Gunnsi searching for the Northern Lights - with a clear sky, but bright moon, Gunnsi was honest about our chances of seeing anything of any note, but with cloud predicted for the rest of our stay, we decided to go out anyway. We didn't see much, but we did have a great time trying. Gunnsi is a lovely, interesting bloke and we really enjoyed the trip whilst learning a lot about Iceland.

The following day we went out on the Golden Circle tour with Tyffi - again, you'd struggle to find a nicer person, and the day was brilliant; some beautiful sights and Tyffi's knowledge - and evident enjoyment - of the incredible countryside, added hugely to our enjoyment of the day.

There's nothing wrong with bus trips and they're probably/surely cheaper, but it was fantastic being able to spend as much/little time as we wanted at sites and do things at our own pace - we were the only people on both trips, so whilst not great for the guys, it was amazing having personal guides. I can't imagine that we'd have learnt as much or had such a brilliant time without Gunnsi and Tyffi - great guides and great blokes.
