“Very European!”
Reviewed 18 March 2013

The streets are filled with gorgeous Icelandic people day & night. People are a bit reserved at first, but very friendly when you engage them. The shops are one of a kind; merchandise if very expensive but you will definitely find something you will treasure forever in these stores. The nightlife is exciting. The bars are all packed solid...but make sure you don`t wait too long at night to eat because they don`t serve food after 10 pm - just alcohol in most places - but you can get a sub sandwich (which was very tasty) on the streets at any time up until about 2 am.

“Half day tour of Reykjavik”
Reviewed 5 October 2012

This tour was Reykjavik in a nutshell. Very interesting and informative. Stopping at the Perlan, where hot water is stored, visiting an outdoor sculpture ( strange sculptures), stopping at the house where Reagan Met Gorbachev in 1086, a drive round the harbour and a stop at the fantastic Harpar, concert hall.

“Good quick snacks”
Reviewed 9 May 2012

Opposite the harbourside there is a small snack bar called St Paul's run by a Liverpudlian called Paul who serves the most amazing smoked haddock chowder and brie, bacon and cranberry baguettes all freshly made and perfect for picking up and walking around with if you dont want to sit down for a bite to eat. He also proudly announced that he has Tetley Tea bags which you wont get in Iceland!!!

“Walking/Food Tour”
Reviewed 19 March 2012

You MUST do the walking/food tour your first afternoon/evening in Reykjavik! It is a perfect introduction to the city and it's surroundings AND gives you a sampling of the typical Icelandic dishes. The tour ends near the harbour where you can grab a hotdog from the famous stand visited by President Clinton.

“reykjavik old town”
Reviewed 29 July 2011

Tapas bar near tourist information offers great food at reasonable prices for those on a budget. Also there is a range of great value sea food restaurants around the corner and a short walk down to the harbour where you can wine and dine for reasonable money. We found lovely coffee bar with games and relaxed ambience in walk up to the big church on the right. there is a fun guide gives free walk at about 2.00pm daily from square in front of the tourist info .. a lovely fun afternoon for those first time visitors to the city. park near the downtown youth hostel for 80 kr per hour.
