Owner description: At The Cinema, Old Harbour Village No2, are shown quality Icelandic nature films; volcanoes, northern lights, flora and fauna. The Cinema is located in the loft of an old fishermen´s dwellings, where the fishermen used to mend their nets, tar their boats, salt their fish and overnight in bed bunks. Redoing the loft the atmosphere of the old life was kept as much as possible, even so that the salt smell still lingers, but the main object was to provide ideal settings for showing quality Icelandic nature and documentary films. By reading the reviews of our visitors on The Trip Advisor pages it seems that we are having success ...

Tis the season, so where better to hear the story of the 13 Jule lads and Gryla. Great presentation and I look forward to returning to check out some of the other films that are shown at this cozy little theater.

My husband and I went to see this show on our last night in Reykjavik. Bryndis (the owner) gave us a private viewing (that is, we were the only ones there and she still showed the movies). The movies were incredible, informative, and the filming by her husband Valdimar was spectacular! These are "MUST SEE" movies. We spent time after the show speaking with them and had the loviest conversation - Icelanders are the friendliest and warmest people we have met during our international travels. They also have a nice mineral collection in the theatre that Bryndis is happy to share her knowledge about with visitors. They charge a very modest fee that is well worth the experience! Also, downstairs and around the corner is the SeaBaron Fish Restaurant - a bit rustic but they grill outstanding fish kabobs at a good price! Karen & Jack

We had a free afternoon and decided to take a walk in the city and do the cinema. Its located in an old fishermans house - its very romantic. We were alone during the show and it was great. The employee was very nice, she even lit some candles for us. We learned a lot about Iceland and how it has been created. Also, some shots were amazing. I would recommend this cinema to anybody visiting reykjavik.

We were told about this Cinema at the Tourist Office and it was worth every penny. The film make did an incredible job in filming the landscape of Iceland and the volcanic eruptions. We really enjoyed the films and we spoke with his wife after viewing and she was a delight to speak with. Very knowledgeable and very friendly. We would recommend seeing their films, well worth it. Also the Cafe downstairs has great food:)

If you want to see some great landscape or volcanic eruptions films from Iceland then this is the place to go, The owner Valdimar Leifsson is a great fotographer and his film from the latest eruption´s are just outstanding. You can also buy his films on DVD at the cinema and there´s not a better gift to bring back home to your friends and family.
