I stayed here for a long weekend with my mother in March and can genuinely say that this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in! Great location slap bang in the middle of town. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a spotless, spacious suite with (boiling!) hot water, a fully fitted immaculate kitchen and even a washing machine and tumble dryer (which came in handy as we got caught in heavy snow a few times). Loved the very unusual but tasty breakfast ! Great being able to eat breakfast in the privacy of your own room without having to do without the delicious fresh bread which was delivered to your room every morning around 8am. I cant praise the staff enough who were incredibly helpful, friendly and courteous and who went to great bother to ensure that we had a great weekend. One of the young ladies working at reception rang around all of her own favorite restaurants when I told her that we couldn't get a table until we finally got a reservation at one of the best places in town! (its almost impossible to get into any of the popular restaurants on Friday/Saturday evening so I would advise booking in advance).
Would definitely recommend this hotel and am already planning a trip back next year. Thanks to everyone at the Residence - we had a fantastic time!
PS - Some people have complained about the noise but we must sleep like the dead as neither of us heard a thing.

We stayed at this hotel for about a week last week. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean, well-appointed, comfortable and nice. The hotel is within easy walking distance to the main shopping and dining areas of the city. We had a great stay here and I would highly recommend this hotel.

For us traveling to Iceland was probably a once in a lifetime trip. I am so happy we picked this hotel. Rooms were quiet, very clean and comfortable. This hotel is close to most shopping and sites. Water temperature in bath gets very hot which is good after a cold day out. But be sure you check it before getting in. There is not a lot I can say that hasn't been said in other reviews. But I want to thank all the staff at this hotel, you are the best of any hotel we have ever stayed at. Big business hotels could learn a thing or two from all of you. Always had helpful hint and a smile. Thank you very much.

2 nights of comfort! Arrived at the hotel before check in time and they were able to check us in early, which was wonderful as we had been traveling for ages so we were so tired. The beds are really comfortable and you get fresh milk for your coffee and tea and water on arrival (though you can drink water from the tap in Iceland, it may have a little eggy smell but that is to be expected in a volcanic region). We did not have the breakfast so can not comment, but the internet was fast and there were many english channels on the TV. The staff were confident and helpful. We throughly enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: If you stay friday/saturday nights make sure you have a room in the back. The hot water smells like...

We had a great stay at the hotel. When we arrived we were given a free upgrade to a superior studio, which was a very nice surprise. The room was big and well equipped, and the breakfast was large enough to make a packed lunch. Comfy bed and good shower too.

Except bathroom, everything is above average quality, especially good location, clean and comfortable room. About breakfast, we can eat in our room, but need to prepare by ourselves because everything is in the room not buffet style. So, I think it depends on people who like this style or not. About bathroom, maybe as I am Japanese and especially I am with my lillte baby, I feel it's too small and not convenient,

Stayed for three nights in one of the Residence Hotel's apartments and couldn't have been happier with it - the staff were excellent, being both knowledgable and accommodating; the room was spacious and well-equipped with a small kitchenette area; and the bed was extremely comfortable. I thoroughly recommend ordering the supplement breakfast each day, as it provides you with a fridge stocked with delicious meats, fruits and cheeses, plus a delivery of fresh warm bread every morning.

Furthermore, the hotel is right in the heart of downtown Reykjavik, meaning there's a plethora of restaurants, bars and activities right on your doorstep. The harbour is a fifteen minute walk, and the main shopping streets are mere steps away. There's a Bonus supermarket a few streets across should you choose to self-cater, but keep in mind that there are several great (and relatively cheap) places to eat within a stone's throw of the hotel.

Thoroughly recommend this hotel; my wife and I intend to return to Reykjavik (such a great, friendly city) and definitely intend to stay here again.
