Went with a group to Cafe Flora on a weeknight. We had a reservation, but there had been some misunderstanding and our reservation was not found. Nonetheless, we were quickly seated and the waiters took our orders. I had the lobster salad with homebaked bread. Both were excellent. The surroundings are lovely, as this restaurant is in the middle of the botanical gardens.

There were several other groups in the cafe that night, mostly tourists, so it was quite crowded. Still, the service was fine and no complaints there. The chairs are a bit hard, but you can get a blanket from the waiters (also good for when you are sitting outside and it's not that warm) and sit on that to make the chair a bit more comfortable. Cafe Flora is a great place to visit when it's sunny and you can sit outside, but being inside is not too shabby either.

We discovered this amazing place yesterday - we loved it so much, we'd only gone in for a quick coffee, and we ended up having lunch, and then returned later for cake! Beautiful conservatory in the gardens, serving the most delicious food - we had the Danish open sandwiches (myself the smoked salmon, my husband the lamb), and we were blown away by how amazing it was. Best lunch we've ever had!

Hidden in between the trees in the botanical garden in Laugardalur. It's the perfect outing on a warm sunny day. Come before the locals get off from work or early in the weekends as the place gets crowded when the weather is good. I think the place is closed during winter but I'm not sure.

The surroundings are serene and beautiful. The food is fantastic and good value. Mostly light courses such as salads and sandwiches as well as cakes but also fine for early dinner.

Highly recommended, especially if you're coming from the Laugardals pool as it's very close by.
