We stayed two nights at Hotel Klettur, ideal location for walking into town for shopping, restaurants and bars. One thing I found when staying in different places around Iceland was that rooms had two single beds pushed together rather than a double. The hotel was clean and staff where friendly. The breakfast buffet is 10/10!! Parking seems to be a bit of an issue around the hotel but we managed ok.

Dear TrishFen1,

Thank you for your stay and for your review.

We are glad to know that you liked the breakfast buffet, the cleanliness of the hotel and our friendly staff. We always try our best to offer good service and facilities. Thank you for your kind words.

Yes, the beds in Std Double rooms either have two separate single beds or twin beds (pushed together). We often get positive comments regarding the quality of the beds and we do hope that you had a good night sleep in your bed :)

We would also like to mention that we do have underground parking available. Our garage is located under the hotel. Guests are offered free parking during their stay as space allows.

Thank you again and we do hope to see you again soon :)

All best,
Hotel Klettur team

A clean, basic in very good location in Reykjavík.it is a small hotel therefore standard room a slightly on the small side but have all amenities. Our kiddies were in delux room which was much bigger. Although lighting could be better. Twin beds, with only 1 pillow provide so we had to ask for more pillow!
Tea/coffee making facilities. Our bathroom was on the small size and fairly basic.
Breakfast is continental and plentiful, and good value. Plenty of seating/ lounges, TVs and a pool table.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall nice hotel and good value.

Room Tip: Higher floor provide a better view

Dear nikkisingh,

Thank you for your review and for your stay. We are glad you liked our hotel :)

However, we are sorry if the lighting did not meet your expectations. It would have been no problem to let the reception staff know about this as they are always happy to help.
There should always be two pillows in the room - sorry about that, we will make sure that this will not occur again. Thank you for letting us know.

Hopefully you had a great time in Iceland and we look forward seeing you again.

All best,
Hotel Klettur team

Hotel Klettur is a modern hotel just 5 minutes walk from the bars & restaurants in the centre of Reykjavík. The rooms are modern and very clean. The breakfast is continental style with a good selection to choose from. It has a lovely bar lounge, free pool table and a number of sofa’s to relax in. The bar has a happy hour in the evenings. The reception staff were very helpful and pleasant. The rooms are very similar to what you get in uk’s Premier Inn.
The hotel is a good base for exploring the island and I definitely would stop there again in the future.

I found the hotel to be simply wonderful. It is located just a short walk from the main walking and shopping street in the city, yet it is not right in the center of it. The hotel staff provided great service with a smile. The room was nicely sized and immaculately clean. I appreciated the simple style of this hotel as it is in Iceland and has a very nordic feeling to it. The beds were great and comfortable with nice blankets to snuggle into. The hotel breakfast was a European type breakfast with breads, fruit, yogurt, meats and cheeses. The staff in the restaurant provided excellent service.

If you are looking for a fancy hotel in the center of the scene, then this is not the hotel for you. However, if you are looking for a comfortable place without any pretence that is tucked into a neighborhood and iis just a couple of blocks from the city center, then indeed, Hotel Klettur is for you!

Thanks for a great stay. If I come back to Iceland, I would definitely stay here again.

A basic but clean and well located hotel in the centre of Rejkyavik. Standard rooms are small but have everything you need, even a kettle for tea/coffee making. Buffet breakfast is fine and kept well stocked by the hard working staff.
Best thing about this hotel was the lovel girl on the tour desk who quickly and efficiently sorted out our problem of missing the airport bus. All my fault as I had got on the wrong bus, full of Americans who were going on a trip. Once we realised and got off, the airport bus had been and gone. Panic stations. But the young girl telephoned the company, offered to get us a taxi to take us to the bus station, where we could pick up the airport bus. We just made it! So thank you to the tour desk girl - you are a star.

Room Tip: Rooms on a higher floor might offer views of the city.
