We used Nordic Visitor for a 10-day trip to Iceland from 12/26/19-1/4/20. We did the self-drive tour. I can’t think of one thing that didn’t go right. Our travel consultant was Silja, and she was great. We wanted our itinerary to be a little different than the published 10-day trip because we wanted to be in Reykjavik for New Year’s Eve, and they changed things around with no problem.

This was our first international trip, and having Nordic Visitor do the accommodations made me feel so at ease. The hotels they booked us were all very nice. The rental car was great and the pickup and drop off went very smoothly. It was a really nice feature that the package included transportation to and from the rental car place. One SMALL thing was that we struggled to figure out the car’s GPS. But, we just used the GPS on our phones so it wasn’t a problem. Oh...AND the package included wifi for the car which was valuable for directions, Googling, and keeping our 21-year-old son occupied!

The book Nordic Visitor gives you with suggested places to stop is really great. It’s overwhelming, but so helpful to have a sense where you might want to go. It definitely included places I hadn’t seen in my research.

We booked some, but not all, of our excursions through Nordic Visitor. All of them went smoothly. We had a couple of things cancelled due to weather, and Nordic Visitor sent us emails and left messages at our hotel to let us know.

All in all, Nordic Visitor (and Silja) were amazing! Our trip was better than we could have imagined. We will be going back someday to see the country in the summer, and I will definitely use Nordic Visitor again.

Stayed in Rekjavik and let Nordic Visitor (Steinunn) make all arrangements. Not a gliche in arrangements which were convenient, informative, and illuminating. We enjoyed all recommendations madde by Nordic Visitor and found the Icelanders to have a fascinating history and also a model society. Drivers and guides were conversant and informative and friendly.
Highly recommended; we were impressed with the wind even though we were raised in Chicago.

WOW! Iceland what a truly wonderful place and Nordic Visitor, the very best tour operator we have ever used (and we have used a lot, in many countries, over many years).

We looked at the Nordic Visitor website and chose our bucket list tour, then we chatted through some specific additions with Gudrún Eiriksdóttir, who expertly guided us with her local knowledge. (Huge thanks to Gudrún!)

We landed on 13th February 2020 just in time to greet the 257 kilometre per hour winds which arrived that evening. The storm lasted most of the following day, sadly wiping out our booking to Dive between the continents at SILFRA.
However Alex Freyr O'Dell, from Nordic Visitor, came to the rescue by rescheduling our booking at the PERLAN. Far from wasting our day we had a great time exploring the museum, walking through the glacier and at the planetarium.
Alex also rescheduled our booking at the Blue Lagoon, where we would throughly recommend the Premium entrance and dining in their Lava Restaurant. (Enormous thanks to Alex!).

As expected our hire car was delivered the following day, complete with a personalised itinerary, full size map with all our hotels and highlights detailed on it, together with a telephone, charged and ready to go.

We then set off on our great epedition 'full circle' around Iceland. The places we visited, which were all recommended by Nordic Visitor and the hotels we stayed in, which were booked by Nordic Visitor, were absolutely superb.
Apart from the 'golden circle' which is well known for its spectacular vistas and attractions, we found 'Diamond Beach', Seljalandsfoss, Reynisdrangar to be breathtakingly beautiful.

Another storm arrived whilst were were in the north of Iceland, which was terrific and terrible in equal measure. What an experience to see white out, enormous snow drifts and such angry seas! The down side was that we were 'cut off' in Siglufjörôur, the most northern town on mainland Iceland. The upside was that Klara Gylfadóttir, from Nordic Visitor called us to tell us to stay where we were (not that we could have moved on, all roads were now closed) and that arrangements had already be made for us to stay at the wonderful Sigló Hotel. Klara also contacted us the following day advising us to stay a further night, not a problem for us, it was a fabulous place! (Klara, another star from Nordic Visitor)

We had a long old drive from the north to the south as soon as the roads were opened, through more tremendous scenery, back to Reykjavik, which was a snowy picture postcard, full of fabulous restaurants and shopping opportunities!

The weather whilst stormy, snowy and wild was not as cold as we had expected it to be. Though we would recommend taking layers, to enable easy adjustment! Don't forget to take a camera to capture all the wonderful memories you will make!!

We truly cannot recommend Nordic Visitor highly enough, their thought, organisation and support before and throughout our holiday were second to none!

This is our 2nd booking through Nordic Visitor. A few years ago, Iceland, and most recently Norway. Our representative was very helpful and patient with our questions. Everything went off without a hitch. I will not hesistate to use Nordic Visitor again in the future if (hopefully) the need arises. Thank you Cicci Eriksson.

We were in Iceland for 9 nights and 10 days and Nordic Visitor made all arrangements for hotel/guesthouses, auto rental and air port transfers. All our pre trip questions were answered promptly, all of the accommodations at the comfort level pricing were fantastic with bery welcoming hosts and great breakfasts every morning. Wi fi hot spot provided with auto rental combined with the provided maps worked flawlessly. The planned itinerary, with limited.driving each day, and suggested points of interest were perfect. The phone provided was very helpful in making dinner reservations etc. I highly recommend this company and plan to use them in the future.
