Clean and comfortable room. Good buffet style breakfast for all diets. Very close to shops, restaurants and bars. Breakfasts only, no restaurant, small lobby which is also bar and lounge.. Would be happy to stay again.

We stayed at this hotel 9th March for four nights. We were very happy with the hotel, the rooms were clean and warm, our room had a fridge, although we had to switch it off in the night as it was noisy! The room next door where our friends were staying didn't have one. The breakfasts were good, and the staff in the reception couldn't be more helpful. Yes, we saw the northern lights, the trips ran for two of the four nights, they weren't as bright as the photos, but we were warned by the guide that all the pictures are enhanced. The hotel happily phoned Grayline to change the bookings as required. The location is excellent close to the main shopping street, and you can see the church from the dining area. One small complaint, the lift made a funny noise when the doors opened and closed ocassionally and you could hear this through the night. I think some WD40 is required.....

Room Tip: Quieter overlooking garden, and away from lift

Its centrally located within walking distance to the shopping streets. rooms are smallish , basic but clean. hot water from the tap had a slight tinge of sulfur. staff were reasonably friendly. Double rooms are actually 2 twin beds joined together. We were out most of the time. On both night we stayed we were out to see the Northern lights and we succeeded on catching it. Breakfast was quite nice

The location of the hotel, the parking, and breakfast were all great aspects of the hotel. We also found the bartender to be very helpful and kind. He gave us great recommendations and answered our questions better than the others at the front desk who seemed to be disinterested.

However, our room was incredibly dirty. The sheets and pillow cases had not been changed. There was hair all over the pillows and sheets when we arrived and the bathroom was also very dirty. We went downstairs and asked if we could change rooms but the front desk told us we would need to wait around until 2pm in order to do that. Obviously we didn't want to wait around because we only had one full day in the city. So we then asked if someone could just go and clean the room. After we returned from our day out we went upstairs to find that it had been cleaned but they failed to change the sheets as we requested. Unfortunately, we did not return until 3am because we went on a Northern Lights Tour and so there was no one to ask to change the sheets. It was extremely unpleasant.

Stayed for 5 nights from 22nd Feb and had a great time. The hotel is very comfortable, nice rooms (good heating in rooms which helps when you've been 'playing' in the snow and have damp clothes! ). Fabulous breakfast, lots of choice, fruits, yoghurts, cereals, different breads, ham, cheeses, cucumber & tomato, fish, biscuits, cakes, scrambled eggs, sausages and beans. Lovely coffee from the machines (cappacino etc) and tea. (Fruit juice is was the only thing we didnt like as it was very weak). Reception was very helpful with advise and ordering taxis etc. We did the Northern Lights tour, Golden Circle and Blue Lagoon and had a great time. The holiday was made even better by waking up on Sunday morning to 2 feet of snow. ( Apparently the biggest snowfall in 80 years) Beautiful! Only a very short walk to the main area of Reykjavik. I would recommend this Hotel.

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the garden on first floor
