We were booked into the Grand for 4 nights, and were well taken care of. The desk staff were so helpful in getting us on tours at the last minute, suggestions for things to see, restaurants, and best places to walk. The bed was the most comfortable we've ever had in a hotel. A special thank you to Helgi on the evening shift for making our trip to Reykjavik special.

Grand Hotel is a big, modern hotel in Reykjavik. We travelled together with my Granddaughter and had a room for three persons. It was nice big beds and space enough. The bathroom was ok. Some lamps didn't work and was never fixed, but we also forgot to tell, so I can't complain. The restaurant was good - we had dinner two days. The food was great. People in the reception was very helpful and we had no problem with the WIFI.

Grand Hotel Reykjavik advertises on its website the availability of wifi in all its rooms. This is incorrect. The wifi in the hotel rooms does not work and complaints about it are ignored by hotel staff. After repeated complaints, a member of staff brought an ethernet cable into the room, but even so, the connection was fairly unreliable and very slow at times. The ethernet cable is of course no use for mobile phones or tablets and it means that only one of the guests can access the web.We feel that a hotel of this price and stature should not be misleading about its facilities because we chose it specifically because it advertised free wifi throughout the hotel. When I complained I was told that I was not the only guest to complain and was assured that the connection "will be repaired", but in three days it has not been.

Grand Hotel is a big hotel with all needed facilities. The room was big enough, clean and maintained very well. Bathroom was OK as well. Breakfast was excellent The receptionists at the front desk service was great. Computer room enabled me the option to print my boarding passes very easy. The only issue that should be taken care by the Hotel is improving its WiFi network within the room which was very weak.

I attended a conference at the hotel, but was traveling with my family. The staff was so helpful with all details of booking the room, suggesting activities for my children and tour operators, and arranging shuttle to the city center. We walked to the city center several times (with two children age 4 and less than 2). We also walked to a few nearby restaurants that were excellent. We looked forward to the buffet breakfast every morning which had many appealing options, including for my children. There was a small area with dedicated organic options, for those who prefer that. Excursion companies pick up and drop off at the hotel, which was also very convenient.

I stayed at the Grand Hotel for a convention last week. The room was not ready when we arrive very early in the morning but we could at least have a breakfast then left for an excursion .At 2:00,when we were back the room was ready. The room is large and confortable.Beware that they do not provide toiletries but the soap in the dispenser is of good quality. Also they do not have shower in a cabinet, they have a plexiglass but after the shower all the bathroom is wet.
You have dark curtain helpful with midnight sun,and you can open a window with a switch.
People at the reception were nice and helpful with my requests of excursions.
The food at the breakfast buffet is good but does not change .They have LYSI wich is fish oil for omega 3!I tasted it,it is not bad and it is a tradition in Iceland. The convention facilities were adequate. It is expensive for the American standard as everything else on that island.
You have to walk or bike to go downtown but it is no more than 30-40 minutes depending where you go.They have also a shuttle 3 times a day.WI FI was free but slow in the room.
