We stayed here the last night of our Iceland trip. The room was clean and spacious, compared to some we had been in. Be prepared to take the steps, but there is also an elevator. It is on the busiest shopping/dining/drinking lanes in Reykjavik, so be prepared for some noise, too. We were there on a Saturday night and the noise continues until about 0200. I didn't think it was horrible and my husband slept through most of it. It does make for a long day, though. The nice thing about the location was the proximity to the shops and eateries.

This hotel is right in the middle of the city and walking street. Very easy to just walk to different locations. Not suitable for people with moving disadvantages (stairs and impossible to get in with a wheelchair). Beds were comfortable and overall the room was clean and spacious.

Since we only stayed here for 1 night and had to leave early to airport, it was a bit disappointing that they didn't want to make any early/pick-up breakfast (even coffee) for us in the morning.

Compared to our first hotel (reviewed) in Reykjavik, this was much better!

Room Tip: Ask for the corner room in higher floors for great view. Don't forget your windows open unless y...

The staff at this hotel was excellent! Asta from the front desk was a great resource for everything from food to excursions!
Hotel is really within walking distance of the main things to do in Iceland. Arctic Adventures office right across the street.
Room was a little noisy from people partying on the streets.
Hotel has great staff, is clean and close to everything.

An excellent hotel right in the middle of the city, easy to walk to everywhere.
Reception staff helpful, even let us into breakfast early on our departure day. They organised a great airport transfer as well.
Room was ideal for what we wanted - we were out most of the time.
Beds were very comfortable, overall great.
Breakfast was a buffet affair which was great and set us up for the rest of the day.

This hotel is right at the heart of downtown Reykjavik. Excellent access to shops, bars and attractions. There are noises from the street outside, but this is a trade off against not having to take shuttles or transfers to get anywhere interesting, or more importantly, getting back after a long day exploring. The room was clean and comfortable, and equipped with everything you would expect from this class of hotel. There was a constant supply of free tea and coffee in the sun room (which was also the breakfast room), which would be good for larger groups to meet up in. The staff were pleasant and helpful, cheerfully arranging an early (5.00am) breakfast for us on the day of our departure. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful, and although I don't think I would have soused herring at home at that time of day, it seemed the thing to do and was very tasty.

Walking distance to almost everything in Reykjavik. The staff were pleasant and knowledgeable and eager to help (even with our arriving at 1:30am). The breakfast was more than ample, the wifi fast and reliable. The rooms are not large nor new but adequate, warm, and provided everything we needed - including dark curtains for those LONG days. The street in front is closed off from July 1st but we found plenty of free parking on the streets adjacent to our building (in fact just below our window). Street noise was not a problem even with the World Cup Football noise (Reykjavik is a small (very small) city). I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Breakfast room is on level 3

We stayed here back in February. We had booked our room for this trip nine months in advance and got a fairly good deal, so our expectations (if any) were not stratospheric, and we were not disappointed. The hotel is in a converted townhouse, above a pharmacy – very well kept. It is located on one of Reykjavik’s main high street with lots of shops, bars and cafes nearby. The room was clean, warm and just about spacious enough. There is free wifi in the rooms. Staff were friendly (as was just about everyone we met in Iceland). We spent three nights at this lovely hotel. Next door is a really nice bookshop. The location was perfect. Literally, everything seemed to be walking distance for us: all the restaurants, the supermarket, the meeting point for our various excursions. It all worked out quite well.

Room Tip: Choose a room that faces away from the street if you're worried about noise from partyfolks at n...
