My boyfriend and I stayed here as part of a IcelandAir package. What a beautiful hotel, It doesn't look much from the outside but what a difference once you walk through the doors. It's modern and contemporary with a lovely restaurant attached (Satt) that has a divine menu. We only ate there the once unfortunately.
The rooms are spacious, clean and heated very well. So much so that we had no problem having the window slightly open during the night. The radiator in the room quickly dried our soggy clothes :).
There's a free shuttle service provided by the hotel into town which is a bonus but the only fault I have with it is the last service from the hotel is at about 7:15pm and that's it. So if you're late back from a tour then a taxi is the only option. You can walk into town, it's about 20-30 mins walk depending on the conditions. The pavements were very snowy/icy when we were there.
The staff at the front desk are very,VERY helpful. They couldn't do enough for us from phoning us taxi's, Changing currency and even printing our boarding passes for our flight home.
There is no doubt that we will be staying in this hotel again.More
