Location not convenient for anything except the Pearl restaurant, The hotel appears to be regularly used by tour groups, which is why I stayed here at the start and end of a tour. The first room was basic and a bit cold, with no obvious way to increase the heating. The 2nd was nicer, overlooking the local airport but incredibly hot, even having turned the heating to the lowest possible setting. Reception suggested opening the window and the door to the hall to cool the room down and did offer a fan. Breakfast is quite good. Reception staff are very good but checking in and out is tedious, particularly when people jump the queue by approaching from the opposite end. It would be much fairer to those politely waiting their turn if there was a better queuing arrangement..

The rooms are relatively small but the service and the food were great. It is conveniently located near the city center and despite being close to an airport relatively quiet (it's not a public airport).

Wish the guest rooms share the same quirky design as the public areas (lobby, corridors). What was troubling was the slow front desk staff and other guests that constantly jumped the queue. The outdated rooms remind one of a hospital or nursing home. Most of all the high room rates and charges were a turn off. The only positives were the excellent buffet breakfast and the friendly and helpful young lady at the tour desk.

Hotel is bustling with flight crews and tour groups but the front desk service is always helpful, unrushed and friendly. Our room was ready for a 9:30 am check-in and had a window that opened. Free wifi, free breakfast. Free bus passes to city center (stop across the street from the hotel) or it is a 20+ minute walk. Travel desk in lobby made spot-on recommendations (i.e., Blue Lagoon is less crowed late afternoon) and arranged tours. Satt Restaurant/Bar is understated and trendy, New takes on traditional Icelandic food, local craft beers and unusual sourdough pizza toppings. Early breakfast starts at 4:15 am.

Room Tip: The back of the hotel faces the domestic airport.

The hotel is far from the city center, not at walking distance. It does advertize the fact that it offers free bus passes to the city but neglects to add that the bus arrives only once every half hour and takes you to a rather remote area of the center, 15 to 20 minutes walk from the sites that interest tourists (old harbour, the central pond area, most shops and restaurants, even banks). And, yes, you have to get to the bank to change money in the city, unless you changed enough money at the airport. No other change offices in the city center.

Rooms are nice, but if you face the runways of the domestic airport adjacent to the hotel, it can get quite noisy if you open the windows, and quite hot in the summer if you don't open the windows.

After a long day visiting the sites and returning to your room for some rest, it becomes a hassle to return to the city in the evening, with the long walk and wait for the bus, and you reluctantly opt for the hotel restaurant which is OK, but certainly not a preferred location to explore what the city has to offer in terms of cafes, restaurants and a bit of night life, especially as the sun hardly sets in the summer nights. Thus, you miss out on a major attraction of Icelandic summer.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not facing the airport runway;it has better view but is much noisier. We stayed in bo...

Large hotel in Icelandic terms, Though not in center of town, it is conveniently located within nice walking distance downtown, across the street from hertz car rental and the pearl of Reykjavik - Perlan!
It's rated 4* but rooms need refurbishing, water leaking in shower, sink blocked..... Bathroom too narrow and hard to move around.
Full breakfast.
Use of hot bath should be free for hotel guests.

We were able to check in at 11am and on departure for a very early flight we were able to get breakfast at 4.15am! Excellent spacious and comfy room. Very friendly and helpful staff and they have a travel centre in the hotel who will help with any travel details. There is a direct bus service to the town centre or it is a 15 minutes walk.
