Yes, the reviews are pretty mixed on here but I really enjoyed the stay as a base to see amazing Iceland.
The hotel is basic and bills itself as such. However, the room we had was comfortable if a little worn. The bathroom was adequate. As we were there around the time of 24 hour daylight we hardly spent any time in the room other than to sleep and were fortunate to have great weather (for Iceland) with sun and no rain.
Breakfast, again, a basic offer but if you can cope with toast, bread, cereal, hard boiled eggs, cheese and some salad items you can really fill up before a day out and about in Iceland.
The location is a little way out of the City. Basing my review on summer and constant light this was not a problem for us at all. A bracing walk along the seafront into town - taking around 25 minutes - 35 minutes depending on pace was perfect for us.
My tip - if you are looking for a base to tour and take day trips and don´t mind a stroll into the City then book this. If you are looking for a higher end room where you can relax, have the facilities and spend time in the room then have a look around before booking.More
