Reasonable hotel

Review of Hotel Cabin
4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 12 Oct 2017via mobile
Well the hotel is clean staff helpful breakfast ample.

Only criticism is the meals. Went to try and eat tonight sign saying fully booked until 8. So went inside to book for afterwards to be told they could not say we would be able to eat. Why advertise what you cannot provide.

Would i stay again here well maybe as the subway and local store across the road fed me for far less.

We enjoyed our week at Hotel Cabin immensely! Our room was quaint and the beds were quite comfortable. The entire staff was extremely helpful especially verifying our excursion transportation. The food was good for the price. We would definitely stay here again!

I expected a small room based on the description on the website. I had no issues with the room size. I was unprepared for the total lack of sound insulation. I could hear neighboring guests on both sides and the room doors up and down the hall made slamming noises as they closed. In addition the plumbing noises were very loud. I was awoken several times by toilets flushing above or next door to me. I could also hear the showers running in adjacent rooms.

We are very sorry to hear about the noise from the other guests/plumbing. Please let the staff know the next time about these kind of matters, they are always happy to help.
We are glad you liked the room - we would like to mention that we also have Superior rooms, they are larger with more amenities.

Hope you had a fantastic time in Iceland.

Stayed here and we had a nightmare with the receptionist who was very rude.

The room was supposed to have amenities but they weren't provided. - We had to pay to use a kettle which was absurd and call at least 4 times to get a heater to our room.

We had a brilliant trip and we weren't at the hotel much as we were always out on trips etc. The room was clean, the shower room was clean too so I cant complain.

It is budget and thus you are getting what you pay for.

Breakfast was just a continental breakfast and very basic - enough to fill up.

As a frequent contributor to Trip Advisor, stupidly I failed to read fellow reviews words of wisdom before I booked. Following reading reviews, I has nightmares of what I would find on our arrival in Reykjavik. The hotel is basic, expect nothing more than hand soap and loo roll and you will be fine. None of the basics we expect from value accommodation in the UK. No kettle, no hair dryer. They do however supply towels, although somewhat small and free wi fi. Breakfast is what it is, we had porridge and toast. Although continental breakfast is available. The juice, we steered away from as it resembled squash. You wont starve people. It was basic, clean, a few broken bits and pieces, the sink was cracked, toilet roll holder broken, but hey your not there to lie in bed. We were lucky and a front room with the most beautiful views of the ocean. It was 15minutes walk from down town Reykjavik, so if you cant or don't want to walk this might not be for you. Although I understand there is a bus from outside.

Such a cold greeting. The reception lady slid an intake paper to me and didn't even glance up. My girlfriend looked and me then her and said what is this?, and she barely answered. Went to get a beer and it was such an inconvenience for them. Rooms are tiny, tiny TV, and the window opens into the hallway? (See pictures) We didn't even have breakfast just left to get on our plane and pretended we didn't stay here...

Dear Josh L,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review following your recent stay.

Our staff goal is to provide our guests with an exceptional customer service, so it is always disappointing when we are informed otherwise. We are very sorry for your experience, this should not have happened. Your feedback certainly will help us getting our service more efficient.
We are also sorry if the size of the room did not meet your expectations. The rooms are different in sizes depending on the category. The Superior rooms are bigger, with more amenities.
We do hope that you will give us another chance in the near future.

Kind regards,
Hótel Cabin team
