We did stay at hotel odinsvé one night in january, we choose the hotel by its location to the center of city of Reykjavík. It is near to the best restaurants and bars and the main shopping street Laugarvegur where you can find all you need and lot more. There is also the street Skólavörðustígur that runs down from the grand church Hallgrímskirkja witch is next beside the hotel. This is not a big hotel but nice, the rooms could be bigger but they are clean and nice. there is a restaurant inside the hotel, we only had our breakfast there and it was realy good, and various. The hotel staff was nice and helpful. If you are looking for a nice located hotel in Reykjavík for a fair price , you have found one right here.

We booked an apartment for four of us through Expedia. On arrival we were welcomed by the receptionist and a guy lead us to the apartment a few minutes walk away. In the city centre, with shops and restaurants around. It was a two bedrooms 1st floor apartment right at the city centre. Clean and tidy, with all utensils for self catering. Bathroom with bathtub and shower. We made our breakfast every morning saving going to breakfast in the hotel which charged @2300ksf. Room clean every other day. The reception will arrange fresh towels upon request and delivered from the hotel promptly. The receptionist were very helpful, and polite. I would like to specially mention about the lady who man the front desk on 23/01 morning. She helped us to book the tour for Northern lights as there was a problem with the tours operator web site and we were unable to book the tour. She called them and made them honour the web booking discount for us. Her customer focus attitude is much appreciated. All in all a present stay in Odinsve. Recommended.

I think the trick to this hotel is what room you get. I was given room 110 which is directly above the front door and I felt as though I was sleeping on the street. The room is not modern like some of the updated rooms but it was very clean. Apart from the great location and wifi I'm not sure I would recommend this hotel to friends.

Pros
Location
Good selection of tea in the room
Clean
Free wifi
Warm duvet on bed

Cons
Dated room
No curtains, only a blind that didn't quite fit the window
TV didn't work in room
Bathroom fan very noisy
Road noise and people noise

Room Tip: Perhaps getting a room on a higher floor would help eliminate the road noise.

This was mine and my husbands frist trip to Iceland and I am really pleasd we booked this Hotel. Just a couple of streets back from the main hight street it was quiet but close to everything. We got upgraded to their brand new suite as it was my husbands 40th! Lovely modern brand new room but there was a smell of drains when you used the shower. I would recommend and stay again.

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights on our first visit to Iceland. We could not have picked a better location as the hotel is close to the centre of town, but nights were quiet and there was no traffic to mention. Our room was not modern, but spacious and immaculately clean. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable. We are already planning to go back and we thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

We are here at the moment, staying in room 402, corner view, spectacular views of harbour and city. Balcony area allows for more detailed views. Room clean and functional, plenty of space for clothes. Room is laid out to give a semi-separate sitting area. Tea and coffee making area and mini-bar. Bath with over shower clean and warm. Location is perfect for city area and shops/restaurants.

This hotel is in a really good location. It is near a number of lovely cafes and restaurants and only about 5 minutes walk to the church. We didn't hear any noise either night and stayed over a weekend.

We were given room 205 which was described as a junior suite so we had the bedroom and then a sitting area up in the loft. The bed was comfortable, there were black out blinds, hairdryer and toiletries in the bathroom, tea/coffee, large wardrobes and plenty of heating and hot water.

We ate breakfast one day as we needed to eat early and all the local cafes open at 9am weekdays and 11am on Saturdays (some later on Sundays). The food was nothing special but there was a range of cereals, juices, fruit, bread, hot buffet, croissants etc. We didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening but it seemed to be popular.

The staff on reception were friendly and helpful and all the tour buses pick up from here.

I would definitely recommend this hotel and was happy with our stay and the room we had.

Room Tip: We stayed in 205 and had no noise from the street and there were no rooms above us to disturb us eit...
