Hotel Odinsve is a small(ish) centrally located Reykjavik hotel and one which provides the perfect base from which one could explore the city and the rest of Iceland. I'll break down the experience as best I can:

When we stayed - my wife and I enjoyed 3 nights in mid-April 2016.

Airport transfer - really easy, just grabbed a FlyBus from the airport which takes groups of people to the city bus station by coach and then transfers you onto a smaller bus to take you to your specific hotel. Overall journey time is around 45 mins and really easy to book a return ticket when you arrive at the airport. Approx £50 return but a cab would cost maybe £80-90 one way. Sadly no train or metro service.

Hotel reception and staff - very welcoming, efficient and helpful. Happy to provide you with information on the local area (things to do, places to eat) and can advise on and book excursions.

Rooms - we got a deluxe double, which was spacious, bright and clean. The bathroom was also roomy and the shower was powerful with reliable temperature adjustment. The room included free wifi and the connection held up well throughout the trip.

Food - the hotel has an attached bar/restaurant called Snaps. This place has a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Their breakfast buffet is varied (ranging from a healthy fruit and yoghurts to hot food including bacon, eggs and waffles). Dinner consists of high quality Icelandic and European grub and offers a vibrant and captivating environment. There's a separate downstairs bar which is nicely decorated but quite pricey, even by Iceland's standards.

Additional facilities - whilst I'm sure they exist, we didn't have the need to utilise anything beyond the room and restaurant but check out the website or contact the hotel for more information on this.

Location - as mentioned above, this is a central hotel, 5 mins walk from the main restaurant/bar area and 5 minutes from the famous Hallgrimskirkja church which is a must-see for its gorgeous architecture and breathtaking views of the city.

Overall - I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a friendly, clean and centrally based hotel in Reykjavik. The staff do everything they can to make you feel at home, the place has a nice vibe and there's a good quality restaurant on your doorstep.

Hotel in ideal spot, all coaches pick and drop you off here ( note most trips want you to wait for pick up 60 - 30 mins before allocated time ) . Hotel staff very helpful in organising trips, pick ups etc. We Was celebrating our anniversary and was given chocolates from hotel which was a lovely touch.
Room clean and nicely decorated, also lovely and warm . Breakfast was tasty and everything you'd want to eat was there. Definitely recommended Hotel Odinsve

Great hotel in the centre of Reykjavik. Really comfortable & great value for money. Clean with everything you could need for a short break. Hotel staff were friendly & really couldn't do enough for you. They gave great advice on all the local attractions & places to visit. Iceland in general is a beautiful country & would recommend this hotel for anyone wishing to visit.

We travelled to Reykjavic for my father in laws 70th for a once in a lifetime trip.

We took room 205 for myself, my wife and my 10y/o son, it was very spacious fridge, tv etc and the lounge area upstairs was made into my sons bed. The beds were really comfortable. It served us very nicely apart from the fact (and you cant blame the hotel for this) but we were awoken at 01:15am, and 4:00am on Friday night by noise from people on the street yelling and at 12:30am, 2:00am and 5:15am on Saturday night with the same issues. This was the only negative though. The service was great and they could not have helped more.

The breakfast buffet had plenty of options and considering the prices in Iceland it was pretty reasonable.

All in all happy with what we booked.

Stayed here 2 nights at end of trip around Iceland. Staff was great and went out of their way to be accommodating. Room was okay. Small but adequate. Good wifi. We were on 3rd floor with balcony. We didn't experience the noise others have written about but we stayed mid week, not weekend. Reykjavik is known to be party town on weekends. Breakfast was good, not great, but again staff was wonderful. I would stay again. Reasonably priced, good location and wonderful staff.
