This hotel is great value. The breakfast is really lovely. It is a continental style and the pickled herring was delicious and so is the coffee. The rooms are small but for the price you pay and the purpose of our stay they were ideal. The reception staff are so helpful and will happily ring round for you if required. For example they were happy to check on our whale watching tour and did numerous other bits of ringing round for us.

We had decided to get married in Reykjavik after visiting here in 1998.
We were married in the Hallgrimskirkja Church on June 13 at 4 pm, so the Odinsve was an ideally located hotel to stay and hold the Wedding Reception.
We booked one of the roof top rooms with a balcony. The room was very nice and very clean, great view over Reykjavik from balcony.
From the moment we arrived the staff were very pleasant and helpful, they arranged the wedding meal in the restaurant (15 people), and it was excellent. We all returned to our room for an evening celebration. The next day the room was cleaned immaculately without any comments, thank you!
My wife and i would highly recommend this hotel in every way, it added to a Fantastic Wedding. Ithink we speak for the whole group!

Ideally located for visiting all the sights of Reykjavík, the Odinsve is fair priced hotel. Not sure where the 4* comes from, but it's standard is of a 3* northern European Hotel.
Breakfast was fine, continental only.
Very clean accomadation, sheets and towels changed daily.
Quiet neighbourhood even though beside 101 district.
I would recommend for returning.

Hotel Odinsve was the perfect base for our week in Iceland. It's one street away from the main drinking/eating/shopping street but far enough away that it's pretty quiet at night. The rooms weren't huge but comfortable, warm and clean. There is wireless but we were right at the end of a corridor and the signal was weak. There is limited pay parking in the immediate area and we managed to park right outside with no problems every evening. Breakfast is a buffet, which was fine but there's more substantial fare in the many cafes a couple of minutes walk away. (Try the baker round the corner for amazing doughnuts!). Didn't get around to eating in the restaurant,

This hotel is a gem in a great location in Reykjavik, just a short walk through charming streets to the main shopping and cultural areas. It was also quiet and restful. My daughter and I shared a fourth floor corner room with a great view of the harbor. I would suggest a sleep mask, however, as the windows allowed plenty of that northern daylight to shine through at 11:00 pm. The room was simple by immaculately clean. Everything worked as it should. The staff were polite and went out of their way to be helpful. You should definitely try the restaurant both for the wonderful breakfast buffet as well as the fabulous dinners. I would definitely stay here again.
