We stayed in the family room which was spotless with enough room for the 3 of us.

The reception/ lounge is very comfortable with a fire & plenty of places to lounge! The bar & restaurant are very cool & the staff are more than helpful. We had breakfast & dinner & the food is superb.

The location is fine, 5 mins walk to the trendy Downtown area.

I wouldn't hesitate to return but if you don't want cool & quirky stay in a Travelodge!

Room Tip: Facing the harbour.

We liked the location next to the ship yard and Vikin Maritime museum. It's only a short walk from the centre. The hotel has a fresh approach to the use of colours (as a converted paint factory), modern furniture, funny signs - even the gym has got an indoor climbing wall. This hotel is great for families, especially with children who like adventures.

This hotel was a great find for our stay. The place is fairly new, well designed and very central (walking distance to night life, restaurants, shops, etc...). The rooms are fairly small but beautifully arranged. The lobby turns into a hopping bar on the weekends with a young local crowd. The front desk was always eager to answer all our questions and make great recommendations. i would go back and stay there without a doubt.

Like our entire Iceland experience this hotel is quirky and fun. The wooden man sculptures capture it perfectly.

Hotel brilliantly located, also part of the very useful coach/minibus group that gets you around easily.

Yes the room was small but had everything you need and was warm, clean and comfortable. There's something about seeing your partners silhouette on the throne that brings you closer together.

Staff very friendly and polite. The bar and restaurant was very busy at the weekend and had a great buzz every evening as we came in. Also ate in the restaurant one evening and enjoyed the meal.

Myself and partner stayed here end of Feb '14 for 4 nights. A fantastic, quirky design hotel. Situated right opposite the working dock yard you really feel part of this amazing sea faring culture. It was great being downtown which had so much to offer and also within easy walking distance of the newer part of town The most helpful Tourist Info centre, just round the corner was set up as a stylish cafe with extremely helpful staff who could advise on the probabiltiy of Northern Lights sightings that day/night. The bars and restuarants around were great - lots of choice from cocktail/cafe bars to more trad pubs such as The English Pub which had a great atmosphere and where we watched coverage of the Winter Olympics. We absolutely loved the quirky nature of this hotel and the absolute attention to detail in design and layout. I loved the Icelandic map wallpaper in our room and the bathroom behind frosted glass sliding doors was fab. We loved the funky wooden man sculptures and the quirky phrases in rooms and elsewhere added to the tongue in check humour felt here. Loved having a balcony, tiny but great for the icy blast of Icelandic air in the mornings! An amazing view of the harbour and the mountians behind. You almost felt you were close enough to touch the huge ships that were getting repaired in the dry dock. The hotel had a chic restaurant and cocktail bar very popular with the locals. I hope this small review goes some way to describing the amazing experince we had and I would very highly recommend this hotel, it really added to our experince of this amazing country.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the harbour with a balcony if possible.
