A modern, quirky hotel right on the harbour, nice views if your room overlooks the sea. Ask for quiet rooms as bar can be noisy, seems to be popular with the locals.
Reception generally very helpful. Couldn't get in room one evening and they gave us cocktails whilst they sorted it out.
Breakfasts good, wide range of food, friendly staff.
Would stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room as bar can be noisy. We had a harbour view which was lovely, saw some great sun...

Nothing to look at from the outside, but cool and funky inside. Good location for exploring the old harbour, and setting off for a bike tour of the city or a whale watching tour. I had an attic room, which was very comfortable with a great view over the city. Tiny bathroom but everything you need. The bar has a good vibe and retro decor. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: An attic room is small but perfect for the single traveller. Otherwise request a view of the old ha...

Iceland is a very nice place, there is little doubt, however the hotel that I have been banished to tonight, although nice inside in parts, the bar, does have curious views. For example these are the views as I look out of my bedroom window. I am no sailing expert but dredgers and scrapped looking boats do not normally form part of the visage of a Marina. And I know it is supposed to be a Marina as the hotel is called Hotel Marina!
On the positive side the bar is nice and the burger was superb, with small potatoes in a bag instead of chips. The reception staff was totally miserable and monosyllabic and the rooms are small but fine. Would I stay here again? Doubt it.

This was a 3 night stay with 2 children. We had booked a large room for 6 people which was very spacious with funky steel framed double bunk beds. I was disappointed that these studio rooms were on the ground floor, so the view of the dry dock was not so good, but you can't have everything. The room was warm, quiet, spacious. My only grumble was there was nowhere to store our stuff, it pretty much had to stay in the bags the whole time, except for stuff you could hang for which there were plenty of rails and coat hangars. But you can't hang pants and socks.... We didn't eat in the restaurant, as it looked expensive. We enjoyed the breakfast which was a buffet, and the bar was always lively in the evening with really friendly staff. I even pushed the boat out and tried a cocktail (not my usual tipple!) Really memorable. I agree with the person who said it nothing to look at from the outside, but really don't be put off.

This hotel offers an experience over and above a night of sleep. Situated right at Reykjavik 's harbor , Icelandair has done designed the most unique place in this wonderful town. The hotel was converted from a shipbuilding paint factory, so you can see the raw forms, beams, concrete walls. Let me not mislead the reader however, the finishes are well designed, hardwood floors, contemporary fixtures and furniture, beautiful view on the harbor side. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were put up here for an overnight by the airlines after our North American flight was delayed and it turned out to be a really enjoyable evening. The food is outstanding- both dinner and breakfast. The hotel offers a cocktail bar which apparently is. The #1 favorite to for locals to come for evening out. But be warned, the cocktails are expensive- like equivalent to NYC prices $25 per. But if you can get past that, the place is delightful and fun.

Room Tip: Ask for 2 nd floor or higher on harbor side. Also some friends got bunk beds - ok if that fits your...

We stayed here for two nights before getting on a round Iceland expedition ship. It is apparently an old paint factory that sits right on the harbourside in Reykjavik. It is a narrow building right up against a road on one side and a ship repair yard on the other. It looks pretty ugly and would not attract you from the outside. BUT, they have very cleverly converted it inside to a unique small hotel with original finishes and designs everywhere. Our bedroom had a huge photo of a young fisherman that went all along the wall and up over the ceiling. It was smallish but very well fitted with all the sockets travellers need. The designer bathroom had a wetroom shower. The public spaces were a bit crowded with guests and locals having fun in the bar areas. We had dinner and breakfast there and they were excellent, although the breakfast buffet suffered from the shortage of space. Some of our fellow travellers complained about road noise and particularly the late night revellers leaving the hotel below their rooms. No free Wifi, but you could get it elsewhere in coffee shops. If you are going on a ship from the harbour, yes it is an ideal location. If you want a bit more space and peace, then other hotels might be better.

Room Tip: Roadside strangely seems quieter as the other side can suffer from late night revellers leaving and...

Rooms were tiny but decoration nice. The interior of the hotel is modern and it was great fun to spot all the details in the lobby. The gym is also located in the lobby - with glass walls. So if you want to go to gym, be prepared that everyone can see you.
Breakfast very nice, warm dishes delicious. Also, remember to taste Skyr. In the evenings, the restaurant was packed with young people, it seems that the restaurant specializes in serving great cocktails. Staff very friendly and ready to help with all the requests.
