We stayed in this hotel 2 nights before a round Iceland sea trip ; we did not choose the hotel and cannot comment on the cost because our visit was part of a package. However we found our room on the first floor comfortable and perfectly adequate for a short stay. There was little space to store clothes but we did not bother to unpack completely for a 2 night stay. The décor was unusual - we had maps on the wall and part of the ceiling. There was a good choice for breakfast but the food was ranged on a counter next to tables where people were sitting so it made it quite congested. We had a set meal for our party which was very good. We did find the bar area busy, it being a Friday night and very popular with locals but overall the impression was good. It was an excellent location for us because we were boarding our ship a short walk away but it was also easily walkable to the city centre for sightseeing.

Stayed for four nights recently and were pleased with our stay. Location is very cool, right on the harbour with some good restaurants close by. Short walk into city centre. Room was small but comfortable, would have prefered the space the balcony took up to give a larger bathroom etc. Not sure the 'wet room' concept works very well, not too pleasant standing in puddle when using the toilet after partner just had shower but not a major issue.
Bar and restaurant very modern but laid back with good quality food at breakfast.
Overall good experience and would recommend.

Background: city break from Bristol couple in their mid twenties

Room: 1st floor above reception. Fab has we had fast free internet :) room was quiet clean and comfortable. No issues with the "bathroom" thought it was funky!

Breakfast: wasn't the best tiny selection and tiny room. With hindsight would haven't of paid for it. Far better reasonably priced places 10 min walk away. But saying that the breakfast box was nice to have on the coach to the airport.

Trips: so many good ones but the ATV was AMAZING booked through grayline

Top tip: alcohol is expensive we used the hotel bar for happy hour.

We liked the hotel quite well, except for the bathroom that can't be closed completely, as the glass-slide-doors always stays a bit open.

The breakfast was the best we had in Iceland (in 7 different hotels).

Room Tip: Even numbers have a view on the port. As the windows aren't cleaned regularly, the view isn't outstanding.

Like everything else in Iceland prices for first timers are sticker shock. Just accept that everything is uber-expensive and get on with it. The rooms are small and clean and the bathrooms have an opaque door right by the bed. Not bad during the day but at light when the lights in the room are off and the light goes on in the bathroom nothing is left to the imagination. The bed was comfy but the room was very tiny. We found the front desk staff to be very accommodating and the location is absolutely ideal. I would absolutely stay there again IF the price was competitive.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the other side of the hotel from the Slipp bar. It gets VERY loud and stays that way until VERY late at night and we could here it even though we were on the other side. I can't imagine how the people directly above the bar slept at all.
