With all the choices in Reykjavik, I would choose somewhere else. We chose this hotel because it had a room that slept a family of five. The room was a partially underground room 3 feet from the road so the road noise and sidewalk foot traffic noise/voices was constant. The hotel provided earplugs, but if you are a light sleeper at all this isn't the place. It was clean. I liked the location near the ships. The parking lot was filled with very large nails. I know that isn't the hotel's fault. This was the beginning of our ring road trip and we were afraid we would end up with a flat tire though. I think I could have overlooked some of these things had we had a great reception/front desk experience. We didn't have to interact with them often, but the 4-5 times we did they were just unpleasant and unfriendly. A smile would go a long ways. Since this was the first place we stayed in Iceland, we thought maybe it was just the way things were. Our next ten days, we met wonderful smiling, friendly people so I don't think that was it. Next time, we are in Reykjavik we will give somewhere else a try.
