We stayed for one night at the end of our trip to Iceland. It suited the purpose perfectly. We had a lovely two bedroom apt on the top floor. It was very new and clean, and nicely decorated with a Scandi feel. Living/dining/kitchen area was spacious and kitchen very well equipped. Bedrooms were a little bit small but beds were comfy, and its central position made it great for an overnight stay. As everyone we met in Iceland, the staff were very friendly and helpful - producing a baby cot and bedding at v short notice!

Stayed at the Rey Apartments for 4 nights in early April 2014. Had the studio room on the second floor. Room was very large with a big queen size bed, separate couch, small kitchen with 2-burner cooktop, microwave, fridge and plenty of kitchen utensils (cups, plares, bowls, glasses, wine glasses, cutlery, etc). Separate full height closet with 6 hangers, iron and ironing board. Bathroom was clean and bright with shower stall (no tub, which was fine forme).

Excellent location just 1 block from main shopping street which has plenty of restaurants, cafe/coffee/tea houses. A health food/gluten free shop just up the block. A small grocery store just 2-3 blocks walk. Very very convenient for those who enjoy getting to know a place by walking.

Other reviewers complained of noise from late night reveillers, but I experienced none of that, perhaps because the studio room does not face a street, but rather a small internal courtyard. Also, experienced no noise from any neighbouring suite, and only the occasional noise from the stairs/hallway. All in all a very quiet stay.

Rey Apartments is well know to tour operators and the bus service. Absolutely no problems with pickups for tours - everyone knew where it was.

My only interaction with the owners was at checkin, but they were very efficient, friendly, helpful withdirections to food stores, shopping, tourist office, bank machines, etc.

Highly recommend the Rey Apartments. Will definitely stay there again.

We spent three nights in a top floor three bad apartment. Really liked it. Well equipped with full kitchen and large dining table. oven, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, fridge/freezer and dish washer. Open plan to sofa and telly area.

The three bedrooms are a double/twin, triple and quad. The only downside are the thin walls. The double is next to the adjoining apartment's kitchen and you can hear every word - thankfully our neighbors weren't too noisy but I could tell you they had bacon sandwiches as the smell wafted in!!!

There are steep stars to the apartment but if you are fit it is no problem ad the helpful an will carry cases up and down.

It s very central and close to everything in central Reykjavik. Parking is no problem as meters everywhere. Free from 6pm to 10am.

I would recommend to anyone.

The apartment was extremely well located to both attractions and good food! The apartment was well maintained and super comfortable as well :) only problem was that some construction was gg on and it started pretty early in the morning :( other than that, it is a great place :)

We rented the penthouse apartment in the city centre and did not regret it for a moment
Clean, comfortable and good value for money.
The owners were thoughtful by providing eg enough loo paper for the whole of our stay
The only downsides were
the spiral staircase to the top level but saying that the owner carried our suitcases up and down again
and
this is a flat built into the roof. There are sloping ceilings in 2 bedrooms and the sitting area which could be a challenge to those over a certain height n
I would certainly recommend to others

We stayed in Rey Apartments for an entire week in February. Everything was extremely clean, attractive, and no one bothered us (we didn't hear noises from other apartments as other reviewers mentioned). The central location is phenomenal and allowed us to explore Reykjavik on foot at all hours; the flybus that took us to and from the airport (this can be arranged at the main tourist office in the centre of town-you'll see it) picked us up at our door. I do wish Rey had a daily maid service...we were given clean towels only once or twice in our seven day stay. No biggie, just something that would have given the place an extra star. Not fancy, not particularly memorable...but comfortable and convenient.

We had a studio apartment for 3 nights and it was good value for money. The room was really comfortable and clean. Not flash, furnished by Ikea. There was only just enough crockery, cutlery etc. but there were plenty of pans. We only had a two ring hob but could have managed to cook a meal if we wanted to.
There was some noise from people getting back late at night which woke me on the first night, but after that it was OK.
The location is perfect and as other reviewers have said a much better location than many of the expensive hotels. Restaurants and supermarkets are all within a 10 min walk.
There is no reception but that wasn't a problem for us.
