Nice, modern, clean and sleek boutique hotel...Great (although not really happening) lobby with a burning fireplace - not bad to come back to in the middle of winter in Iceland. Free gingercrisp cookies in the lobby were money also..probably had about 12971829371203 of them during my 3 nights there.
The whole hotel smelled like apple pie, the room itself was big and comfortable with an awesome rain shower. Bed was very comfortable, which was important because I spent a lot of time there following nights out. 101 is very well located near all of the restaurants (including Icelandic favorites such as Subway restaurant), tourist excursion depots and the main bars/clubs. Not that cheap, but probably the nicest non-luxury hotel in the city. Locals seemed to be impressed.
Only issue I had was that when I arrived delirious following my redeye I was told where breakfast was, so I assumed it was included in my room, which I later found out it wasn't (yes, I also could've asked or checked). Not that big a negative, though.More
