This is a nice, small boutique hotel, a design hotel with nice smiling staff and good service.
Our room was quite small (on the second floor), very clean, overlooking the harbour. The walk-in shower was great, bed was comfy, with a hard mattress. Breakfast was great, very good salmon and terrine, great coffee and breads.
Gym is really tiny, but there was never anybody else, except for me and my husband.
Hotel is located in the city centre, but then again, Reykjavik is such a small town, anything can be actually reached by foot. Very good restaurants nearby, including the one at the hotel. I liked the hotel s lobby, very cozy, with a nice fireplace.
Still, the hotel has some issues, the biggest one being that it has thin walls and that it is always packed with partygoers (and drunk people), who always go to their rooms late at night, shouting at each other on the hallways, so that nobody in the hotel could sleep…
My impression was that the hotel staff didn't do anything about this, moreover encouraging it. Especially during weekend there were people talking loud and laughing (and drinking, of course) in the lobby and in front of the hotel, in the early hours and this was really disturbing for whoever wanted to sleep.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the top floor if you want to sleep at night

101 is small but perfectly formed and offers stylish and comfortable accommodation with great room service and comfortable duvets. It is also my first experience of a hotel which has a spare pair of quality tights available in the room - what more could a women want!
Great attention to detail - will return!

This hotel is in a great location. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff very friendly and helpful. There were no tea or coffee facilities in the room and our room was located at the front of the building across the road from a night club. The noise issues were a problem when the night club patrons were leaving in the early hours of the morning.
The lounge area has a lovely welcoming fire burning and the over all look of the hotel is very modern and trendy.

I arrived In early morning and was given a room right away. The receptionist seemed friendly and the lobby is sleek and modern. There's no help with luggage or anything else. Room 316 is a huge disappointment considering I paid $400 a night for this tiny room. As you enter the room, there's no hallway. You we immediately at the bed! There was this long, skinny desk at the foot of the bed which was in the way! I moved it to the window where it made more sense. The bath area is modern wanna be but it's not working. The bathtub is in the living room and I imagine no one uses it. It's just taking up space that can be used to make the sleeping area bigger. The kind size bed is squeezed in tho a section too small for such a bed, so you barely have any room to get off the bed. The shower is a hidden area behind the toilet but not all water goes down so you can have puddles left on the shower floor in the morning. There's no privacy in the toilet. The room seems clean and offers slippers, safe etc as in a good hotel but there are very few tv channels and staff seems to be a bit incompetent although friendly. The staff member that stands out and is truly friendly, warm and helpful is HELGI. He truly made my stay better despite the lousy room. This hotel want sot be in the group of hotels like Crosby in NYC but it's too far from it! Breakfast clots me $30 per person and it's not worth it! The staff was friendly and welcoming but the selection. Is too small to charge this much. The service at dinner was good and friendly and the food like fish soup and salmon tartare were delicious. Also, the doors slam here very loud so the staff and guests shake up my room, each time they slam the door.Overall, I will not stay in this hotel again despite the good location as it's too expensive and the room is way to small. For comparison, I stay in one of the top hotels in the world in Amsterdam for $400/night and in Germany for about $280\night. This hotel needs work to call itself 4 star. It's at most 3 starts.

Room Tip: Ask for quiet room, large room so you don't end up like me.

This place just ain't as cool as it thinks it is. Made a special occasion decidedly unspecial with very shoddy and uppity service. Made no effort and that isn't what I'd expect from a luxury boutique experience. There are plenty of other great places to stay in Reykjavik which are waaaaaaaaaay cheaper and it's a very small city so all within easy walking distance. In future I will be staying in one of those and if you want my advice, I'd recommend you do too!

The boutique hotel which offer various services is here. It could access with different ways as by foot, cars or bicycles. The building has very nice design. Also, this property has given reasonable prices to tourist packages. As it has many people review positively, I would like to give other way round to support this property in term of ,, blind spot ,,

What is missing in this property?
The customer wants to have premium service. However, this could not yet achieve. The staff still has less motivation to understand how important of customers to the hotel. For example, one cup of espresso is 400KR. The staff should make and deliver directly. He should not leave it till cold and deliver.

The hotel still has lagged on sustainable knowledge. The Iceland culture is still far from this property. The culture should be explosive presented. How this establishment could be such sustainable property if culture and Icelandic people are forgot. You cannot see many Icelandic items in this property. Everything is too modern and contrast to regional development.

If these points could implement, it might be better to increase the hotel brand value, not just image and competitive position.

Nice, modern, clean and sleek boutique hotel...Great (although not really happening) lobby with a burning fireplace - not bad to come back to in the middle of winter in Iceland. Free gingercrisp cookies in the lobby were money also..probably had about 12971829371203 of them during my 3 nights there.

The whole hotel smelled like apple pie, the room itself was big and comfortable with an awesome rain shower. Bed was very comfortable, which was important because I spent a lot of time there following nights out. 101 is very well located near all of the restaurants (including Icelandic favorites such as Subway restaurant), tourist excursion depots and the main bars/clubs. Not that cheap, but probably the nicest non-luxury hotel in the city. Locals seemed to be impressed.

Only issue I had was that when I arrived delirious following my redeye I was told where breakfast was, so I assumed it was included in my room, which I later found out it wasn't (yes, I also could've asked or checked). Not that big a negative, though.
