Good room, mini bar fridge was great! Breakfast exceeded expectations with gluten free options provided. Staff very helpful. Walking distance to most shops, restaurants. Tour companies pick up at door.
- Free Wifi
Very decent *** hotel close to everything. Sufficient breakfast incl. No car park at hotel, but only two blocks away by the shore line, there is a public parking lot w/ ticket machine. The charge for our rental car parked on the lot for 44 hours was ~ $ 8 US total (two night stay). You only pay for daytime hours and can prepay up until you leave the town (when adding coins in, the machine shows the expiration time so you do not need to pay extra) . Highly recommended !
I am not sure why this hotel has so good ratings, but the location is ok/good. The hotel is run down, the service is low and does not really seem to care and breakfast a litte tacky. It is far from 3 stars. One good thing is that car parking is close by. A big construction site is just by the window, but did not anoy us, since they started after 8 in the morning.
I had a two day stopover in Reyjkavic, and wanted a reasonably priced hotel close to the center. There are only a handful of them, and I chose Clopp as it was a couple of streets off the main drag and the notorious Reyjkavic noisy early morning bar crawl. It was perfect - the room was small but had all that I needed, warm and helpful staff, great location, reasonable breakfast, and affordable!! I'll be back!
I booked this as an Anniversary trip for myself and my wife.
What an experience. We loved every minute of the 5 days we were there. We saw some amazing sights, including the Northern Lights.
Reykjavik can be expensive, but the Centerhotel Klopp was a perfect base from which to see everything.
We will return in the near future.....its somewhere everyone should go!!
Klopp is in the best location, right in the middle of the restaurant district and one block from the water. The our room was really modern and clean. The reception staff were extremely helpful, particularly as we needed to rebook our Northern Lights tour twice due to weather. The breakfast was a continental buffet, it also had bread rolls and crackers that we prepared for our lunches as there isn't a lot of food options on the day tours and what is about is pretty pricey. I would recommend Klopp to anyone visiting Iceland.
