Stayed here for my last night in Reykjavik and was looking for a cheap place to stay. Arrived at the door and realized how it was possible these guys were able to make a profit. First off, this review isn't meant to be negatively skewed, just my curiousity at their business model.
The hotel is run completely off-site, meaning there is no receptionist but rather a phone that you dial where someone will pick up on the other end and help you with any concerns. There is a safe with all the keys of whoever is checking in on the current day and you find your way to the room yourself. Everything is meant to be self-sufficient.
The living space is quite nice and is decorated with a minimalist hand--ie straight lines, clean surfaces, no frou frou. They provide you with a kitchen and adequate space to live in. I was in the room for 3 (1 king, 1 sofabed) and found the room decently large.
Check in was to be exactly at 3pm and they were strict about this. You can opt to leave any luggage you have in the lobby, which can be a little unnerving considering there is no one to keep an eye on it.
