The hotel is situated right in the center of Reykjavic. You can go on foot to all locations around city centre. The room is big enough for a couple and the bed is comfortable. The bad thing is that there is no service room and the bathroom needs some renovation

We stayed here for 5 nights and we were just thrilled with what was on offer. The apartment is beautiful and really unique. The walls are papered in old encyclopaedia pages and the furniture is a mix of antiques and modern. The tv offers multiple English channels for when you're back from a long excursion and need a bit of chill time. The kitchen is well equipped also. My only criticisms would be that proper full size pillows are needed and that the main office should tell you the address of which hotel you're staying at when booking as we had to change all our excursion pick ups/drop offs but this is no big deal. Wonderful location, friendly staff and a perfect place to stay. Will definitely return if we visit Reykjavik again.

Clean, funky decor, comfortable, well appointed. The location on the main shopping street can't be beat because it is central but just a few blocks away from the noise of the bars. Check in process is unusual but easy/functional. We were happy here and recommend it.

We stayed here in the summer of 2013 choosing the hotel for the location and design. None of these aspects disappointed us even when the hotel was under construction back then. However we paid a room for 3 people but got one for 2 with a double bed and an IKEA folding bed, which was not even prepared for our arrival. As we were the couple occupying the double bed my friend had to sleep on that out-of-the-box folding bed at the window in a small studio room which was obviously not one of the bigger rooms we booked 6 months in advance. It could have ben a nice stay in a lovely design hotel but reading all the reviews we were not the only ones with these problems, too bad the owner does not care about this...

Arrived Sunday for a two night stay having rented a cabin in Heytjorn for first 5 nights. We were looking forward to rounding off our holiday in a unique self-caterine apartment in the city centre and relaxing - my partner had been diving at Silfra, me sketching/painting, we toured geysirs, gulfoss and lots more waterfalls, Dyrholaey Beach, Jokulsarlon, whale watching, Fontana spa, blue lagoon, art galleries, and so on - anyway we were not disappointed! Loved the decor - definately my kinda place! Staff were friendly and helpful - you're pretty much left to your own devices, which I quite like. It was comfortable, shower great - plenty towels. A modern and creatively considered space - much like the rest of Rekjavik! Enjoy.

Room Tip: Look into the check-in system before you arrive. Reykjavik is a lively place so don't be surpri...

Really loved the pics of the hotel which is the reason we picked this one and it definitely didn't disappoint! We stayed in the Mona Lisa room and it was spacious, very clean with modern facilities but the real draw was the retro and hip décor which made it different from the other hotels. Really good location, just at the far end of the main street so within easy walking distance of the shops, bars, restaurants, shops and museums so perfectly located. Situated over a really interesting café/restaurant (although we never got the chance to eat here which was a shame). Check in was pretty straight forward and actually not having a reception wasn't a problem as there was a free phone to call if we needed to speak to someone. Only issue was that when I emailed them for details of how to get there from the airport they sent me details for their sister accommodation which meant the bus from the bus station dropped us off at the wrong accommodation, they quickly arranged for another bus to take us to the right place though so not a problem!

OK (no pun intended). This is not really a hotel. It is a set of apartments. There is no reception desk and you have to walk through a restaurant to get to the elevator. Once you get past that part it is absolutely fantastic. Every room is decorated in a different theme. It is modern, colorful, and hip. The rooms are large. Good TV with lots of channels. The rooms have a small kitchen (burner, coffee pot, dishes, refrigerator, sink). I had a balcony in my room, but not all of them do. The location cannot be beat. On the main shopping street. Close to everything. Tons of restaurants within walking distance....including right below the hotel. The Korean inspired restaurant on the first floor is amazing and full of fun hip young locals. Two words of caution (not complaints) 1) it is not obvious from the street. it would be better to be looking for the restaurant (K-Bar). 2) i was there on a weekend and you can hear some street noise from the people walking around after a trip to dinner or the bar. its not like NYC, but if that bothers you ask for a room on the back side.

Room Tip: room 10 has a balcony. rooms that don't face street might be quieter.
