Woke up looking for a place to enjoy a relaxing brunch, was advised to look up this place as they do amazing pancakes. I had 'The Truck' which costed ISK2450, came with bacon, toast, sunny side up eggs and pancake, very good portion size and the pancake was really good. The place was filled with old books and was cozy.

Trip advisor reviewers missed the mark on this one. We made this mistake of going here for breakfast, where we paid about 2500 ISK for the truck - which is what most people suggested getting. The meal small, unsatisfying, and the pancakes that came with it were bite-sized. Literally, I ate them each in one single bite. Also, a cup of tea turned out to be 500 ISK when the bill came, vs. the 300 that every single other place in the area charges.

Why you would come here for overpriced, undersized portions is beyond me. There are probably 5 other better options within 2 blocks. Instead, try out Prikid, Glaetan or the Arctic Tourist Center.

We ate at the Grai Kotturinn on our first morning in Rekjavik and again on our last because we enjoyed it so much. Cozy atmosphere and very good pancakes.

We went for breakfast and had pancakes 2 small portions ( for our kids) and 2 regular. The regular portion was 3 huge thick 'scotch' pancakes and quite few rashers of streaky bacon. We only managed one and a half pancakes each! So overall huge portions but bill also huge. It came to over 8.000 isk! Recommend small portion of pancakes if u are not completely starving hungry!!

Quite a cozy place but takes some effort to find it. The waitress couldn't care much when I was there but it was in the early morning and I was very happy to find a place that would actually serve up a decent dish. The atmosphere is really the big plus for this small and cozy place.
