Stayed here last Summer. Location wasn't right in the centre but it also wasn't a major setback, it was a short walk to the centre of town. It was very easy to get to the bus terminal for the various tours. Staff were very friendly and they answered my questions about things to do in Iceland.

There's a big common area which has a nice atmosphere so it's easy to meet people. It has a good kitchen which is well stocked. The free toast in the morning was pretty good too given how expensive Iceland can be when it comes to buying food. The rooms are pretty decent, although I was in a room of 14 it felt much smaller. The beds were also very comfortable.

Overall a very friendly place and I would definitely return.

Only hostel in the world where I have had items stolen from my bags. High end Marino wool hiking tops stolen, total value of £100 lost to people steeling from bags.

Hostel staff very lovely. Common room nice too. But v saddened about the steeling.

Room Tip: Use lockers

We spent 4 nights at the Bus Hostel and are so glad we did. Such a fantastic hostel - so incredibly clean, with amazingly friendly staff; really cozy and homey hostel with fantastic interior decoration which makes you feel right at home.

Super spacious common area with free wifi and a great atmosphere for chilling out and relaxing each evening. Really great way to meet people from all over the world and challenge new friends to a little bit of competitive foosball! We loved the library and swapped out a few great books for our next trip.

Really impressed with the facilities and incredibly impressed that the bathrooms are private. There were more than enough bathrooms, and despite traveling in high season we didn't have to queue for the shower once. First hostel I've been to where the bathrooms were super clean - all the time!

Kitchen was great and had everything we needed for cooking our own meals; there is free toast in the morning which is really nice.

Overall had a really great stay, and would definitely return.

I spent just one night in the Bus City Hostel. The staff was very friendly, offered luggage room before checking time and I had no problems with staying in the common area before the check-in. A small breakfast for free was a nice surprise (it was not included in the terms). Everything was very clean and there was enough toilets and showers to avoid queues.
The only minor problems were the distance from the center (but not that bad, 10-15 min. walk) and I was surprised that bed linen was for an additional fee - on the other side I had a sleeping bag with me and if the price was lower because of this, it's only a plus.

I return to Bushostel to find many changes since winter. The atmosphere changed, new staff, less happyness and changes in decorations and bad music. I was shocked. Why ruin good things? Then I find out the they have new owners. So this is not the orginal Bushostel. Some of the same staff but also new once. Nice people. Not as cleen and very diefferent. .
