“Great staff, handcrafted goods, cafe, tourist information, booking agent”
Reviewed 30 November 2013

We went to Around Iceland to buy a souvenir that was handmade in Iceland instead of mass produced somewhere else.

Around Iceland is more than just a store. They have:
* Tourist information
* A cafe (with good coffee)
* A booking agent for hotels, tours, flights, cars, and restaurants

We looked around in the morning and chatted a bit with one of the clerks. There was no high pressure sales, just pleasant conversation. We left and went about our sight seeing, then later in the day went back and bought an artistic hand crafted souvenir to bring home.

After that we had some more pleasant conversation with a couple of people working there, and ended up staying and visiting with them over coffee. It was pretty hard to resist the desserts - they looked tasty.

Their staff are excellent, and their goods are high quality.

This is an easy place to recommend, and we plan to return there when we visit Reykjavik in the future.

“Absolutely recommend to go & have a coffee/tea here. Cakes are divine.”
Reviewed 30 August 2013 via mobile

We went in thinking we'd look at some Icelandic souvenirs. They actually have a great sort of "expo" on Iceland, divided into regions, with tv screens and information brochures of each individual region. We noticed some people sitting in the back. Turns out they have a lovely little cafe in the back. The coffee is amazing and so are the Icelandic cakes. The cinnamon cake was simply divine. Next time we'll definitly try the rhubarb tea, too...

“Helpful and interesting”
Reviewed 12 July 2013

We were a large family group on a long weekend in Reykjavik and found Around Iceland very useful. Their shop is in the main shopping street in the city centre so easily accessible. They have a display of "Around Iceland" which is very interesting in the history of Iceland old items and old pictures. Their shop also has a great coffee shop with yummy treats which you can enjoy while browsing the shop as they also sell Icelandic goods. We had our own transport and the staff where very helpful in giving us directions and useful information for the attractions we all wanted to see, the geysers, the glacier and Gulfloss waterfall all in the Golden Circle. They all gave us lots of information for our day trip to the Blue Lagoon. We found all the staff very nice and friendly. Would go back and ask them for more help next time we visit Iceland.
