Spent five nights at this hotel in mid May. We had a room at the front of the hotel looking out onto the main shopping street. The room was comfortable and had everything necessary including a minibar. Our room was was at the front which meant that at weekends there was a lot of noise. If this is not suitable for you then ask for a room at the back in the annex.

Rooms were cleaned daily and were warm and comfortable.

Breakfast was in the adjoining Scandinavian restaurant. Breakfast consisted of a spread of breads, cheeses, meats and cereals. Simple but very adequate. This restaurant was available for lunch and diner and operated separately from the hotel.

Staff were helpful and attentive. If you require assistance or information the desk staff will be glad to help.

Overall a good hotel, centrally located and comfortable. A great base to explore Reykjavik.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front can be noisy. Quiet rooms will be at the back in the annex.

Great place to stay to explore Reykjavik. It is on the main high street so you can walk to the bars and restaurants. We had a meal in the hotel on the first night which was lovely.
Room was spacious and clean.
The staff were helpful and always willing to make a phone call about excursions.
Breakfast was basic but good quality and there was always sufficient - the staff re-stocked the options.
Great hotel and excellent value for money.

I had a room in the back annex and was upgraded to a studio. room 330 was spacious, full of light - lots of windows - vert clean and quiet. A 2 burner stove, sink, fridge stocked with drinks and dishes etc were very handy. Access after the elevator involved 6 stairs. The breakfast buffet was cold with several different cheeses and meats, hard boiled eggs, yogurts, cererals and bread choices. An evening meal in the attached restaurant was very good. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

TIP; Breakfast was served between 6 or 7 to 9 am - it was very crowded from 7 to 8 as people were getting ready to go on tours; it's much better to go later if possible

This is a clean and really good value hotel on a main (and under pavement heated) street in the city. No frills but worth considering if you want convenience and value. We stayed in the annexe in a room with a kitchen (good given the prices) and really enjoyed it.

The hotel is ideally located in the centre of Reykjavik and is good value for money. They have a private car park at the rear which requires pre booking. I would recommend doing this if you have a car as there is no public parking in close proximity to the hotel.

We arrived a lot earlier than expected and had no problems checking in several hours early.

The room (we had an apartment with a double and a sofa bed) was basic but functional. The bedroom was a little small, the door would not close at all as the bed was in the way.

Breakfast was good. There was a reasonable selection that would accommodate most people. It does get very busy though, we went down to the breakfast room around 08:30 and had to wait for a table to become available.

This is a good hotel for the money and I would recommend it for a short city break or a stop over. It's not somewhere I would want to stay for more than a day or two.

I was exteremely pleased with my experience with Hotel Fron. The location of the place is perfect, the rooms were clean and spacious, the food at breakfast was good. As we were travelling by car it was great they had parking for their guest as this saved us the trouble of searching for a parking place in the center of the city. I recommend it to anyone visiting Reykjavik.

Stayed at Hotel Fron for three nights in April - absolutely wonderful location, helpful staff and lovely rooms! Arrived into Reykjavik early from Toronto flight and was graciously greeted and able to secure early check in to my room. The room was lovely and clean and offered a prime home base for my adventures around Reykjavik and surrounding area. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful with booking excursions and giving helpful tips and directions for the area. The location is amazing - but it is also on one of the main streets in downtown Reykjavik - if you are a light sleeper, take advantage of the complimentary ear plugs. For my next visit to Iceland I will absolutely be visiting Hotel Fron!
