The parliament sitting in the middle of the city, with no fences and a nice little park outside. It is a far cry from Westminster. This building was heartwarming as well as nice to look at....read the message on the Cone of Civil Disobedience outside...really struck a chord. If only all nations could think like Icelanders about the accountability of politicians!

The Parliament House is a nice little building to stop and look at while walking through Reykjavik. It is small and unimposing and easily missed. You can't get inside, but it is nice from the outside.

Wouldn't make it a stop on any trip, but if you walk by it is pretty.

Well, built in 1881, it's a small building located at the main square of Reykjavik. It has nothing special in its architecture. Only its small garden is open to public but there isn't many to see there either. No special efforts are needed to see it, once in Reykjvavik, you will definitely pass in front of it, the city is quite small in that respect. What's interesting about it is its history going back to 930s and you can find it in books and in Thingvellir, not at this building.

The building of the Icelandic parliament is certainly nice, but it is so small that one could easily miss it as it is not as powerful as parliament buildings usually are. I especially liked the garden on the other side and took some nice pictures despite of the pouring rain.

It's not open to the public without making prior arrangements with the goverment office first. Disappointing.
