“Good hotel centrally located”

The hotel is clean, breakfast is fine. I did not spend too much time inhouse.
The location is just perfect. Lots of restaurants and bars around. Basically the hotel is located at one end of the main shopping area. There are two supermarkets nearby - not the cheapest, but one of them open 24/7.
Do not see it as a luxury hotel. But it is a perfect base to explore Reykjavik and Iceland.

We stayed here for 3 nights in February and couldn't fault it. The staff were friendly and helpful, The room ( with the wall view) was clean and warm,( you dont spend much time in your room in such an amazing city) bathroom was nice and breakie plentiful. .. the hotel is in a brilliant location which made the city very explorable on foot. We fully intend to stay here again when we make it back to Iceland.

We booked a superior double room with an extra bed but were given a standard room with 3 beds on ground floor. The windows were covered in graffiti and the beds and pillows were not comfortable. The cupboard doors were hanging off their hinges. There was no safe in the room. We discovered the curtains were not black out and there was a very bright street light right outside our window which made it difficult to sleep. Our discomfort was, however, compensated for by the friendly and helpful reception staff and the hearty breakfast.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on an upper floor to avoid having a street light right outside your window.

We traveled to Iceland in December 2013 to see the northern lights and stayed in this hotel. The location is very convenient! Walking distance to lots of shops, restaurants and the harbour where we took the bus and boat tours to see the northern lights. The breakfast every morning had lots of selections. Staff is very nice and trying hard to help your needs. Highly recommend it!

Right on the main square, an excellent location. The staff were very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was small but well appointed. The bed was clean and comfortable. Included buffet breakfast had a wide choice of tasty food. Not luxurious but excellent value.

Room Tip: Superior rooms have a view and are larger, but we didn't go to Iceland to stay in our room so we...

The room was like a cupcake with no frosting. All of the basics with none of the delicious beautiful icing. Which is fine if you're just looking for nutrients.
Excellent location.
Reasonable price.
Free breakfast was pretty good. Solid for Europe, with lots of choices. Free breakfast is a big deal when all the food around here is mad expensive. Save dem monies. Wrap some of them biscuits up in a napkin and straight squirrel that away for lunch.
The staff is either super nice, or irritated, hit or miss.
Tiny shower, excellent water pressure.

Hotel has a fantastic location. Front desk service is erratic, some are very helpful and others seem to be less willing or wanting to help. Room is spacious. Ours had a hole in the wall, reading lamp was broken and view was horrendous as the next door apartments looked right inside the room about 20 feet away. Had to use the black-out curtains to gain any privacy. An investment in some sheer curtains as well would be a nice thought for the guests to allow some light in. Bathroom was fine but odd design allowed for water to get everywhere. Had to aim shower head low to minimize the spread of water. TV was nice with lots of English news and movie channels. Constant closing of doors from other rooms that resulted in a loud vibration on our door was annoying. Breakfast was served in the basement and was standard with some added items like oatmeal, bacon and scrambled eggs. Kitchen staff at breakfast need to show a little professionalism by toning down there kitchen conversations and eliminating the crude language that everyone dining could here.

Room Tip: Highest floor possible facing the square.
