“Turkish Delight”
Reviewed 3 May 2014

Meze is new and I was pleasantly surprised. It offers the best Turkish food in Iceland, on par with some top restaurants I visited this winter in Istanbul. It even has competent fish catch of the day, even if not as good as found in special fish houses in Reykjavík.

Lunch courses are €12, dinner courses €20 plus and small mezes €7 each. The names on the menu are familiar, Dolma, Mousakka, Köfte, Börek og Sish Kebab. I miss some pretentious courses from the famous kitchen of the Topkapi sultans, such as Sultans Delight.

The cod of the day was probably frozen, but perfectly cooked. Service was excellent. The interior design is cool Scandinvavian.

“Delicious and friendly”
Reviewed 23 April 2014 via mobile

We ate here yesterday. Food was well priced. Nice choice of meze or kebabs (lamb or chicken) which were delicious. Waitresses were friendly and food was great. Central and reasonable prices.

“brilliant!!!”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

We took a short break to Iceland which included hotel etc, this restaurant was about 5mins walk from where we were staying, what a little gem!!!.
Its located at the opposite end to the more popular harbour area, but still in the main street. Excellent value for money, the menu was varied, not only meze as the name suggests but truly tasty beautifully presented dishes. Being mainly vegetarian I am usually a nightmare when travelling abroad when it comes to food, but I can honesty say the fish I had, and subsequently chicken on the second evening just melted in my mouth. Yes it was so good we went there twice.
The staff very friendly and welcoming service excellent,...the actual restaurant had a very lively buzzy feel with quite a few regulars. Having just returned and received the dreaded credit card bill it was very reasonable no more than we would pay in the UK for a meal of this standard.
I would definitely recommend this place but maybe in the season it may be better to try to book
as should imagine it would be very popular.

“Delicious lunch at a great value!”
Reviewed 13 April 2014

This was our last meal in Reykjavik before heading out to the airport. We stumbled upon it while walking around downtown, and although our orders took some time to reach the table, it was really tasty. They have great lunch specials, and we were able to snag a table in front of the window to people watch.
