We were 12 colleagues staying for 2 nights. Everything was OK, except the breakfast. Bad service, not enough food which in addition had stayed in the restaurant for hours like the stonehard scrambled eggs.

I stayed here for three nights in May 2009, and paid a total of $345 (i.e. $115 per night) including breakfast for a seaside "de luxe" room. The rooms are new, modern and clean, mine had a black tile floor but no carpets. There is no wireless in the rooms, but wireless is available for free in the lobby. The reception gives you a cable for free ínternet connection in the room, but the connection in my room never worked. Service is attentive and kind, better than average. Alos breakfast is pretty good value for money, and the sights from the brakfast room on 8th floor are splendid!
The hotel is just a few blocks from the main pedestrain shopping street, i.e. very conveniently located close to bars and restaurants, but still a a bit aside from the noisy crowd at nights.
This is a goiod choice and value for money, especially if you like Nordic minimalistic interiors and are into design hotels.

My friend and I stayed at Centerhotel Arnarhvoll for 4 nights whilst on a short mini break over the Easter holidays 2009. We booked the hotel based on the hotel website and also Trip Advisor reviews and it certainly met and exceeded all expectations. We arrived late at 1am and were greeted by Paul, the most friendly and welcoming receptionist I have ever come across.

The rooms were stylish, comfortable and well equipped with ensuite shower room, flat screen TV, hair dryer, tea and coffee making facilities and hanging space for clothes. The twin room that we stayed in (510) was plenty big enough for the two of us and the black-out blinds and incredibly comfortable, soft beds both promoted a great nights sleep.

The next morning we awoke to beautiful blue skies and an amazing view of the snow capped mountains across the harbour. We took further advantage of the great views from the Panorama Restaurant, where we ate the very filling all you can eat buffet stlye breakfast every morning.

We had already booked one tour before we arrived, the Gulfoss/Geysir Express with Reykjavik Excursions, but we decided to leave any remaining tours until we were actually there. Again Paul and all of the other staff we encountered during our stay proved to be incredibly helpful: booking tours for us; providing advice on excursions; finding out the weather forecast and recommending restaurants. Nothing seemed to be too much to ask of them.

The hotel doesn't have a swimming pool, but it does have a hot tub and steam room, which can be accessed for the duration of your stay for 1000 krona. We didn't take advantage of this due to lack of time, but we did have a guided tour of the facilities and it looked incredibly inviting!

The hotel is in a great location. It is about a 3-4 minute walk from the main shopping street and there are a host of great restaurants nearby. For us the location was perfect, within walking distance of everything we needed, but away from hustle and bustle (if it can be called that in Iceland) and with great uninterrupted views of the surrounding scenery.

I would recommend this hotel to anybody planning on a stay in Reykjavik and the country itself was one of the best that I've ever been to!

Me, my mum and my friend stayed here for three nights. Arrived at midnight so didnt see the surroundings, but appreciated the rooms and reception. When we all woke up the next morning we rung each other to squeal down the phone, the views are LUSH! Was amazing waking up to views of the harbour and the mountains opposite, covered in snow!Rooms are very modern and plush, with large TV's and nice bathrooms. The breakfast is served in the restaurant upstairs, which also has great panoramic views, and balconies for the brave!Breakfast was a good mix of cold and hot - bacon, scrambled eggs, sausages, fruit, toast, waffles. It's all serve yourself so we definitely took advantage! This then becomes a restaurant in the evening, which is apparently very popular, we checked the menu but didnt like anything as its very seafood orientated. The hotel also has sauna and very small hot tub, which would be nice for you and a partner, but too small for groups! This hotel is only 2 blocks from the main shopping/nightlife street as well, so near everything!Would definitely stay again, already looking for next year!

Centerhotel Arnarhvoll has a great location near the main street and restaurants of Reykjavik. The rooms are really modern and nice. Our room even had a bath tub. The staff was very helpful and friendly during our stay. The breakfast buffet is served on the top floor of the hotel offering a stunning view. We would definitely recommend this hotel to all travellers going to Reykjavik, Iceland.

We recently stayed at the Centerhotel Arnarhvoll for New Year. Excellent location a close walk to all the bars and restaurants - only 5 mins although far enough away that there was no noise at night (even on New Year's Eve!!!). The rooms are really modern, and the beds extremely comfy. Unfortunately our view was of a car park but if you get a room at the front of the hotel you have the most amazing views of the harbour and the mountains. Breakfast is included and there was agreat selection that you could help yourself to. There is a mini spa in the basement with a hot geothermic pool, steam room and sauna although there is a fee of around £5 to use it. The people on reception were all lovely and booked us trips, gave advice on hire cars etc. They even allowed us to bring our own alcohol to the bar downstairs to drink with no surcharge (a godsend in expensive Reykajvik!) Only one minor niggle - the 1 iron for the entire hotel got lost and we walked around with wrinkly clothes for 5 days. Lesson - take your own iron! If we ever return will definitely stay here - great location, great breakfast, great room and most importantly, great people!!!!
