5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 February 2014

Doesn't look like much from the outside but my room was very well furnished and comfortable. It's well located at the end of the main shopping/eating street in Reykjavik, across the road from a convenience store and is also close to the waterfront. Many other hotels are located in similar areas, but you get a cheaper price here than most other places. It's also only a 10-15 minute walk from the bus terminal if you don't feel like paying extra for the hotel drop-off travelling to/from the airport.

I was really impressed with the service I got when I pointed out their wifi wasn't working. In the past when I've done this at other hotels I've been met with disinterest and the problem typically never gets fixed. In this case I was surprised when someone came to my room to let me know they'd rebooted the router and to ask me to try again. When it still didn't work they provided me with my own personal wifi access point via a 4G router in my room... can't complain about that!

Stayed here with 6 friends for a long weekend. We were upgraded to 2 apartments which were perfect for us. Great breakfast and facilities, and friendly, helpful staff. Short walk to centre and easy pick ups for tours. Reyjevik is such an easy and relaxed place to travel.

Room Tip: The apartments were good. Overlooked the Phallological Museum!

Very friendly, helpful receptionist who sorted us out with a room even though we hadn't turned up for our reservation the day before for being stuck in a storm in Vik. The hotel is very well located at the end of the main street and virtually on the sea front. It is super warm, cozy, has nice new furnishings and fittings and the showers were lovely and warm. The beds are incredibly comfortable. The kind receptionist even arranged takeaway breakfast for us as we were leaving at 4am for our flight home the next day.

We spent one night in the main Hotel which was great and the next seven nights in the 2 bed apartment which is accessed by a separate entry. The 2 bed apartment was a nice space with a fully equipped kitchen, lounge area, balcony, bath/laundry and 2 small bedrooms. The shower in the bathroom really needs updating and fixing and the shower glass was very dirty on arrival. The general presentation was a bit tired, the dishes had not been unloaded from the dish-washer on our arrival and the sheets even had a hole in the them although very clean. The window in the second bed (which couldn’t be accessed from both sides if made up as a double) had a broken window which banged in windy weather. The staff were very helpful and the buffet breakfast had a large selection available which was great and the location made the Hotel perfect, an easy walk to restaurants, attractions and the waterfront, with a bus station located just down the street also. A 7/11 equivalent was located across the road but be warned it is very expensive. All the other accommodation we looked at was quite expensive so guess this is a mid-range Hotel and that is what you get.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while in Iceland. It was a pleasant hotel with the check in/check out being smooth and the information by the hotel reception being helpful. Breakfast included was a standard continental (wouldn't pay extra for this though) and although the bedroom was quite small, it's perfect when you are about and about most of the day.

This was our 2nd stay on Iceland pervious trip we toured. Hotel very convenient to bus station thermal pool, church, main strip and penis museum if that is of interest (as a retired nurse I had seen enough human varieties). The rest of the attractions are all within walking distance. We had a superior room with private facilities and in another hotel it would be called a suite it had 2 sofa's a desk and 2 TV's. My only gripe would be not enough pillows we could have I am sure asked for more but we slept well all that fresh air and exercise. The mattresses and bed linen were very comfortable and I am a bit like the princess and the pea and find sleeping difficult.
The breakfast was plentiful despite them cutting everything in quarters or halves I suppose it is to stop gluttony.

Room Tip: we stayed in room 203 we could here road noise and lift noise but it did not bother us. we used incr...
