This hotel is ideally located right on the shopping street Laugavegur and the water front so it is ideal for shopping and sightseeing. We found the staff to be helpful, even cleaning our room early so we could check in early at 10 am. (We needed a nap after arriving on a 4am flight!). They also helped us find free overnight parking.
Our standard room was simple, relatively clean, but nothing special. Overall, this hotel served its purpose as a place to crash for one night in Reykjavik.

Well located with staff that try hard to help you, but the standard of the rooms is not great. Not as clean as you'd like, with some rooms having teeny tiny bathrooms. We asked to switch rooms after seeing our allocated room. The bathroom was so narrow, you couldn't properly sit on the loos without your knees coming up against the wall in front!

The phone in the room didn't work and although we were forewarned when we switched from the 3rd to the 1st floor, there was one hell of a lot of street noise! Earplugs are a must!

Breakfast was decent.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend this place, though it wasn't horrendous by any means. There are however better hotels around the city. If you don't plan to spend any time in your room, it's passable.

The hotel is superbly located and the rooms are large, as the price might indicate. Unless you get a room off the main street, just be sure the windows are closed and that you have ear plugs handy, otherwise the street noise will keep you awake.

Room Tip: Ask for a room off the street or shut the windows

The hotel was close to the water and shopping. walking distance. Small rooms. the toilet and shower make a super loud pump noise that will scare you! The other couple we traveled with didn't have that noise in their room however. There were black curtains in the room that helped with the daylight. no air, but that was ok. The water did smell a lot like sulfur here, more so than anywhere else. wifi and breakfast were included. It was a buffet style breakfast with hot and cold food.

Room Tip: our friends stayed on the water side of the hotel seemed to be less noise.

I stayed at the 4th floor hotel. In room 206! this place is a multi hotel. several places in one building. Hotels in Reykjavik are all over. They are not cheap. $200 per night. This place was great. They went above and beyond any request. Got stuff from home and at hardware store for us with out charge. Very friendly. Breakfast was good but small. Food was good. Room was good. Internet good. low to medium bandwidth. but worked all the time.
Stay here if you want a quiet clean room in a friendly hotel. food in the area was good pizza and noodle shop up the block. Bars all over.

Room Tip: 206 was good. Most seem ok
