These people cancelled our Expedia reservation (which had been made months previously) at 2 days notice. Inexcusable. I would recommend reconfirming directly with the apartment managers if you do book. Very stressful experience.

Expedia rebooked us at the Luna Hotel apartments which was excellent. See other review.

We stayed in Apartment K in a deluxe studio for a few nights. The apartment is well appointed, complete with everything you need to make your own meals. There is a Bonus near by which you can get groceries from (look for the funny pink pig logo) so that helps cut down on expenses. We got a great deal on the apartment by booking early. In fact it ended up being the cheapest but nicest (by far) place we stayed in Iceland.

The shower is probably one of the things I will miss most about Iceland! Beautiful stone work and various shower heads, complete with heated towel rack. A great place to wind down after a long day of sight seeing. We didn't stay here on the weekend since previous reviews noted that the Icelanders tend to party allllllll night. Even so, there was the occasional drunken group passing by noisily.

The one complaint I would have is that it was REALLY hard to find. There is not a sign on this place, just a small label on a buzzer that cannot really be seen unless you are standing right in front of it. We were extremely tired, having landed at 7am after a 8 hour flight, yet not checking in until 3pm so the difficulty in locating the place was no met with good humor especially since it turns out we walked passed it numerous times. In any case we felt much better after we checked in and had a good sleep on the comfy bed.

Just one note to make- the hot water smells pretty funky to folks not used to the geothermal sufur-y smell, this may put you off of drinking the water. Not to worry though, the hot water and cold water come from different sources (cold from underground springs) and the cold is very good to drink. Just make sure you let it run for a few seconds to get the hot water out. Also- make sure you cook and make coffee with the cold water to avoid the interesting flavor of sulfur.

Stayed 3 nights in a delux studio, very funky decor, well equipped kitchen and we thoroughly enjoyed the huge double shower with jets! Free wifi was also very handy. On arrival the staff were incredibly helpful with tour bookings and transfers etc, would stay there again.

Everything about our stay was just lovely. The staff/owner was so helpful and friendly. We stayed in a studio apartment, which had a huge double bed, sofa, TV with satellite, dining room table/chairs and a funky stone walled bathroom/shower with a clear door but it was just me and my boyfriend so it was fine. The apartment was really clean and beautifully decorated, modern chic. The kitchenette was super equipped, even with an espresso machine. Towels were always changed and the rooms were cleaned often. Its great for self caterers who are on the go but as it was so lovely you often want to stay in and cook/chill after a long day of sight seeing. I highly recommend K apartments. Special hello to Charlie, the Owners dog, who was absolutely gorgeous...

was very very pleased with apartment we booked. it was a budget studio so just the one room with bathroom but couldnt have asked for a nicer place. seemed very new and in pristine condition!
nice walk in shower and reasonable sized living/sleeping area. well equiped - no oven though just a microwave and hob. even had a dishwasher and cappuccino maker! one downside is theres no extactor fan and we managed to set of the firealarms wen frying stuff. so we stuck to microwave and takaways after that.
conviently located on main laugevagur road but take earplugs for sleeping as can be quite noisy!
very helpful man that checked us in as we had stupiedly left our bag containing passports on the transfer bus. after a few phonecalls he personally dropped it too us very shortly after.
would defiently stay there again if we return to vistit iceland :)

What can I say, the apartment in it self was great!! We had big 2 rooms, one with a double bed and another with 2 double beds. The kitchen was a nice size with a huge fridge (not that you need one, with the cold weather :). The living area again was big with a sofa bed and a large tv.

The location was great, just around the corner from the main street and not far from the harbour.

The apartment does have internet, but not very clear instructions on how to get started.
The only thing I would say is that, if there is a problem, it is difficult to get hold of staff. On our first day there, we had to wait over 30mins for a member of staff to meet us at the apartment for checkin. We tried calling the number we were given when we booked, but there was no answer. We were just lucky to have our guide with us (who had picked us up from the airport) who somehow managed to contact them! When booking, we were suppose to also get a telephone,no telephone was given. We even asked for it a number of times, and each time (when we managed to get in touch with anyone) was told it's on its way (must be coming from the other side of Iceland as we never recieved it!). But as we were only there for 3 nights, and out most of the day, it wasn't much of a problem.

So I guess overall, the apartment it service was great, but the service was not so great!

For my 21st birthday my boyfriend and I went to Reykjavik and stayed in Apartment K's newest apartments, 46 Laugavegur, for 3 nights. It was absolutely brilliant! It took us about 15-20 minutes to walk (dragging our little suitcases through the snow) from the bus station to the reception on Thingholtsstraeti, and if i hadnt read reviews on here and knew that the entrance was not obvious it would have taken us a lot longer to find the place in the dark. As it was I knew to look out for a little label next to an intercom. We pressed it but there was no answer. Luckily however, after maybe 5 minutes waiting about thinking "uh oh", a member of staff pulled up in one of the many cool 4x4s in the city and took us to our room.

The room was lovely; clean, warm, nicely decorated. It was perfect for our purposes as it was very centrally located. We had a little balcony with a lovely view over quaint rooftops and Hallgrímskirkja. The bed was king size I think and SO COMFY.

I would definitely go back to Reykjavik and stay with Apartment K again.
