Hilton Reykjavik Nordica

Certificate of Excellence

Stayed five nights on hhonors points in two beautiful Executive Floor rooms with great views of Reykjavik suburbs and its bay and harbor. The hotel is a fine headquarters for touring with friendly, helpful staff. A brisk 20 minute downhill walk to the center of town and the lake its a pleasant change from busy streets and traffic in the city center. Hilton provides a free shuttle for those who don't wish to walk. Good breakfasts one floor down in the Executive lounge, all day snacks and evening 6-8 complimentary wine and liquor along with interesting hors d'oeuvres. We also dined at Vox the hotel's bistro and formal restaurant which produces excellent cuisine. One word of caution: portions are huge even when selected from the so called Light Dishes. We found this throughout Iceland. In summary, a top rating for Hilton Nordica, a great asset to an interesting and charming country.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the fine breakfast in the Executive lounge with large windows offering a similar view to...

This hotel is centrally located and was perfect for our short trip to Iceland. The accommodations were pristine and the staff was very friendly as well. Being a Diamond Hilton Honors member, I thoroughly enjoyed their lounge. Fantastic breakfast and evening appetizers. There was almost no need to go out to eat in a restaurant.

All who travel to Reyk should stay here.

Our room had a fantastic view of the mountains (well worth paying for because if you're the other side of the hotel you over look the car park!!). The room was spacious with a lovely bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful (expecially the lady in the hop who helped us sort out an excursion when we missed the bus...they actually came back to collect us!). The breakfast was gorgeous - the best in Europe. ;-) There is a bus stop right outside where a bus can whizz you down into the city in a matter of minutes. I wwould highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Book a room with a Mountain View

Very nice hotel in Reykjavik, very helpful staff, nice and clean rooms, good breakfast buffet, the service and the view from the eight floor executive lounge is exellent. Hilton Reykjavik is a very good choice for your stay in Reykjavik/Iceland.
Iceland is one of the absolutely best travel destinations, if you are an outdoor and nature enthusiast. Beautiful landscape and scenery, lots of things to do, rafting, canyoning, caving, glacier tours, snorkeling and diving in the Tingvellir lake, snow scooters, ATV-trips, horseriding, hiking, taking a dip in the natural hot pools at Hveragerdi and Geysir or simply taking a dip in the Blue Lagoon, and there is lots of other fun things to do.
If you still have some energy left when you return to Reykjavik - then Reykjavik down town along Laugavegur and the two central town squares, especial on friday- and saturday evenings, is a very very cool place to go out on all the diferent bars and clubs.
Most Icelandics are exellent in English, so getting around in Iceland and getting in contact with the friendly locals is easy.
Iceland is definitely a must go destination - just be aware of the Icelandic weather conditions, Iceland has a cool, windy and often rainy climate - so remember the wind- and waterresistant clothing and footware and a warm sweater - and have fun - great fun.

The Hilton Nordica was perfect for our four night stay in Iceland. The rooms were clean and had all the facilities we needed you also got a great view for your money. The hotel is a short stroll from the centre of Reykjavik however we didnt spend much time there and ventured out of the city quite a lot. I would definately suggest getting a car and having a drive around if you are staying for a longer trip. In particular this saved us quite a bit of money as we drove to the blue lagoon rather than going on a tour guided trip. The hotel has a nice bar and service is impeccable however the bar like most places in Iceland was very expensive. Overall a pleasant and hassle free stay would recommend

Room Tip: Aim for a higher floor for a better view

Traveled to Iceland with my family and we had a suite with two twin beds pushed together for my wife an I and the kids (both under 10) each had a single bed. The room and the bathroom was very clean and of course, being Iceland, the water was very hot! The furnishings were simple but adequate. Lots of drawer and closet space. Our view was of the water and mountains which was beautiful.

The hotel has a bar and a highly reviewed restaurant. Food was excellent. The executive lounge was on one of the top floors and overlooked the bay and mountains. Quite a view! One of the nicest executive lounges we've seen with Hilton. Comfortable couches, TV, books, games.

Service was excellent anytime we had a question.

A few negatives:
The room had a large flat screen TV however there were no kids channels on their cable system. Internet access (Wifi) was onerous and required purchasing a new password daily. Our internet access was free since we're Hilton Honor Diamond members but it was a pain to have to get a new password daily. Also the password was only good for one device, so could not use Wifi for my laptop and phone. Lastly, no airport shuttle however I do concede the international airport is 45 minutes away.
