Iceland is an amazing place and only made better by a great hotel like this! Branded yes, big yes, but friendly service and amazing views of the coast!
The rooms are large and modern, the only thing missing for me was WiFi in the bedrooms! Come on Hilton?
Room service was quick and was a great option for relaxing in during the cold evenings.

Room Tip: Request a higher floor to take in the views.

Spent 3 nights at the Hilton Nordica, staying in a twin room. Lovely, clean hotel with excellent rooms. The breakfast buffet was amazing and had everything you could want, whilst the restaurant, although expensive, was beautiful. Both the staff and food made dining there enjoyable and the food was top quality. The 'Light Menu' was also good if you didn't want to spend too much.

Free wifi in the public areas was a bonus, and the 'happy hour' 2-4-1 drinks from 5 till 7 meant having a drink wasn't too expensive.

Even though it's located slightly out of town, there's a shuttle bus that leaves twice in the morning and 3 times in the evening. Don't be put off by the location as it's only a 20 minute walk into town which leads you along the main shopping street.

Overall a very nice hotel and a good place to base yourself in Reykjavik.

We had a marvellous stay at the Hilton for 3 nights over Christmas. It was a quiet stay but that did not take anything away from the service . The reception service was excellent telling us where would be open over the next few days as the people of Iceland take their holidays seriously. We had a beautiful meal in the restaurant on Christmas Day matched with wines and amazingly beer for the different courses we had. The hotel bar didn't stay open for long but that was to be expected really as it was quiet. I can certainly recommend at stay at the Hilton and also a trip to Iceland we saw some wonderful things and ate some lovely food including smoked puffin and reindeer.

Iceland is an incredible place and this hotel was well situated for tours, trips into town or local shopping.

The hotel had staff from many cultures and English was spoken by everyone.

Rooms were spotless and generously sized. The bar had every drink you would want and very very tasty snack food. The restaurant had an excellent wine list and dishes we're delicious.

The hotel had a gift shop and the amazing excursions could be booked there also.

Cannot wait to return

We stayed here for four nights over the New Year. Although the hotel is out of the city, there is a free shuttle bus and the tour buses tend to stop at the Hilton first on the return journey. We liked the hotel, the service was good as were the breakfasts. There was free wifi in the lobby but not in the rooms. The rooms were comfortable although the bedside tables/shelves were so small there was hardly room to put anything. The lobby bar provided excellent light snacks and the evening meal we had in the main restaurant "Vox" was superb. We checked in very late so missed dinner but there were sandwiches and fruit for sale next to the check-in desk. Another thing we appreciated was being given sandwiches and yoghurt when we checked out very early before the breakfast buffet was open. I would recommend the Hilton Nordica if you don't mind being a little out of town.

We stayed at the Hilton in December 2012 and also upgraded to the Executive Lounge,
What makes this hotel stand out is the level of service. Nothing is too much trouble and your made to feel important, special and valued when you stay here.
This has to be one of,if not my altime, favourite hotel.
My late father used to tell me that you got what you paid for in life and this is certaily true of the Hilton.Well worth the extra expense and with the use of the Executive lounge and the Spa and hot tubs(which even include a relaxing head and neck massage) worth every penny in my
opinion.
A first class hotel, good food, spoltlessly clean and the highest level of service.
Enjoyed staying here that much we din't want to leave and if we return to Iceland we wouldnt even consider looking at anywhere else to say.

Room Tip: upgrade for use to the Executive suite....worth every extra penny

We had a wonderful view of the mountains from our room, which we found to be well appointed. It was nice to have a window in the room that opened. We could not get our TV to work, no matter what we tried, as well as seeking advice from the staff! The hotel is a little out of the centre of town and the shuttle bus times were always inconvenient for us, but it’s an easy and very pleasant walk if you have appropriate footwear and clothing (watch out for the black ice on the footpaths).

I’m not sure why so many other guests were unhappy with the service in the hotel – I found all of the staff to be at minimum, helpful. They all said hello whenever I was in reception or around the hotel, and any requests I had were promptly dealt with. I found Reykjavik hospitality in general is a little more reserved than a lot of places I have visited and nothing like the OTT greetings I had on trips to the US so perhaps that is where some travelers have been unhappy as they may not be used to this. In particular, one morning we mixed up the breakfast finish time and the manager let us in to quickly grab a few things which we sincerely appreciated. I was very happy with it.

This hotel looked to be a lot nicer than some of the other alternatives so I would definitely stay here again. The reception area is lovely to wait in before you go on any excursions, and they will come into the hotel and collect you.

Room Tip: Try and get a room facing the bay for wonderful views.
