Although not ideally located for walking around the center of town (we were there just after a fairly decent snow storm so the walk was arduous) we didn't have any trouble as most of the tour companies will pick you up from the hotel door. The hotel itself is really nice, the rooms are comfortable with a minimalist feel, clean and tidy with everything you need. The common areas are really nice: bar, lounge etc. and the staff, including the concierge, are very friendly and helpful. The area around the hotel isn't fantastic so consider the availability of nice restaurants when choosing a hotel in Reykjavik, the downtown area might be a better choice.

Room Tip: If you can ask for a room at the front (North facing), you'll have a much nicer view than the re...

This is the ultimate accommodation, stay and lovely experience for people who loves the beauty of relax, fantastic food, SPA and elegance in Reykjarvik, Iceland. Fantastic - been here so many times now and I really have lost control of which number it actually was....

Pros: Very clean facility (all areas including rooms, bathrooms, gym, and other public domains), friendly staff fluent English, relatively late check-out time (12 noon), luggage storage upon check-out, complimentary breakfast buffet on arrival (I took redeye), and complimentary city bus pass (just ask the front desk). There is a small, empty fridge (no freezer section) in each room. Good heating.

Cons: They only have wi-fi (no landline or direct cable) and it's not reliable at all, even in business center.

The hotel public areas are very nice with plenty of area for relaxing, sitting at the bar or watching TV. The hotel breakfast was very good. The place is pretty much spotless with the exception of the hallway carpets.

Our room was booked through Icelandair and one of the smaller rooms. It was very cozy but adequate. The beds are very comfortable. The hotel gets very few TV channels so you won't spend much time there. The room pictures on the hotel site are what the rooms look like.

The hotel is very centrally located. A short walk to downtown or the public pools or exiting town.

My only complaint about the hotel is that all the hot tubs require a fee. I felt that one (of the three) should have been available for free. But the very large public pool complex is only about a 15 minute walk.

There is a convience store in back of the hotel for sandwiches, etc.

The staff was very helpful.

We stayed here January 23rd to 27th 2014 and loved every minute of it. The hotel is spotless; our rooms were clean and noise free (in fact, its the quietest hotel I have ever stayed in).

There were six of us and the hotel accommodated every query we had - the staff at the front desk are unflappable and are so helpful.

We all had a bus pass courtesy of the hotel, but chose to walk to and from the city centre as the weather was very pleasant.

The cocktails were fabulous and if you wait until happy hour (between 5pm and 7pm) you won't be out of pocket.

Would visit again - thanks for the lovely experience.

Our room was a bit on the small side, but it was very clean and comfortable. We were there in November and left the windows open for some fresh air with the heat on. It was very quiet at night and the hotel bar was very nice. We did have to drive to get downtown, but for us that wasn't a problem since we rented a car.
