We were travelling US to UK, just stayed over a day to explore Reykjavik. We arrived at 8AM but even though Bjork's check-in was far later, they not just let us leave our luggage, but actually gave us the room early (Bjork also packed us a breakfast to take with us as we also had an early flight out). Staff was super friendly. Room was cheerful, spotless, a little smaller than in US (but WAY bigger than normal London rooms for example), quiet and light proof, bedding was light, comfortable, but still warm. Bathroom was adequate size, but had only a shower - not a problem to us. Bjork is a10 minute walk to shopping district. But we walked down to the waterfront promenade, thence to the old harbour in the heart of Reykjavik, back along the main shopping streets, twice - we did the same walk looking for a good fish supper - and it wasn't taxing: this is a pretty small city.
Bjork does need to post contact info on its website - e-mail address, phone number. Reykjavik is beautiful but needs more good, basic seafood restaurants. Island beer is excellent..More
