I have stayed at this Hotel many times and I must say the service that you receive is much higher than the star rating suggests. Arrived again early at the Hotel after a morning Channel crossing.
Was given my room as soon as I arrived (10:15) Super service. Room was very clean and bed very comfortable. Shower excellent. Breakfast buffet is good with a selection that will suit everyone. Free WiFi. I must also mention the staff at the front desk they really go out of their way to accommodate you and make you feel at home. A Hotel well worth staying at.

Needed a break for a couple of nights in Canterbury. We all know Holiday Inn- slightly industrial style accomodation, trashy overpriced snack food etc- but WAIT!!! This one is REALLY good value!
Friendly staff, clean & modern, good rooms, comfortable beds and spotlessly clean.
The Head Chef is a Sri Lankan gentleman, who knows his stuff; a grilled seabass with veg was immaculately presented, napped with a delicate herb sauce; My Sinhalese curry was clean flavoured and fiery(my choice!). What a change from the cardboard pizzas that the rest of the chain plugs.
I have paid a lot more for a nights sleep, but have difficulty in seeing what the difference was

Room Tip: Our room was a twin 107. Haven't seen any others..despite proximity to busy road, was quiet enou...

Busy, but the staff go out of their way to accommodate. A couple of miles north of Canterbury but take the park & ride for ease of access.

Hard to find if you're travelling south to north, drive through the petrol station.

Nice big car park. Good buffet breakfast, will stay again.

We had a big room, comfortable bed, private bathroom, tv and even wifi in our room. Everything you need including buffet breakfast the next morning.

Also you know its going to be a good shower when there is a sign saying "caution hot water" BRILLIANT! Will definitely recommend this hotel

I have stayed at literally dozens of holiday inns and hi express around the world down the years and have to say that the hotel itself measures up relatively well overall, especially as its a franchise hotel. Yes, it's out of town and on a main road, but you cannot hear any noise from the road and you are in the centre of Canterbury in less than 10 minutes by car. The issue I had related to other guests at the hotel the first night we stayed and the hotel's inability to deal with the situation. There were several separate groups of youngsters who were off to Canterbury for a night out - not sure if it is a popular destination? Unfortunately they allowed an all-male party of around 8-10 to stay at the hotel on the Saturday night and put them in rooms all pretty much next to each other. The returning group of lads continued their party back in their hotel rooms and hotel corridor, and despite a number of guests coming out to challenge them, and calls to reception, the duty manager failed to deal with the situation, and we didn't get any sleep until after 4am, which was totally unacceptable (considering I had 2 awake children the whole night). The next morning, the hotel staff were sympathetic, but when I checked out the following day they seemed far less concerned. Quite honestly they should have offered a refund, they did not handle the situation well. It's is a shame because overall the hotel was good value for money, the staff were friendly, and the food was surprisingly good. You might just want to think about it if you are looking to stay on a Saturday night....

Thank you for your review. I was extremely disappointed to read of your stay and experience at the hotel and that this had a negative impact on your weekend.
As you can read in many reviews, the feedback that we get regarding the service provided by the team is usually high. We welcome all guests of varying ages and mobility ability throughout the year. Despite the obvious challenges of operating a large hotel we always try to serve each one individually and cater to their needs to ensure a comfortable stay with us. This happened due to unruly behavior of group of youngsters. Measures have been taken not to experience the same.
I have been in contact with you separately regarding this stay and hope to resolve your disappointment to your satisfaction.

Thank you again for your review. We hope to have the opportunity of welcoming you and your guests back to the hotel to show that this has been an isolated experience.

I would like to say great place to stay
I would like to say if you want to use their internet ask for the username and password when you check in
the breakfast is basic but filling I would like to stay there again but need to ask for a quieter room

Pleasant staff on my arrival and the room was reasonably comfortable apart from one of the vents in the window was missing which I stuffed with tissue, In the morning I let the reception staff know and they said they would get it seen too.
As the hotel is close to the road there was a lot of road noise overnight I wonder how it would be in the summer if the windows were left open.An annoying yet small issue was where the kettle was positioned in the room there is no power point so I had to move it onto the desk.
Not a lot of choice for the evening meal but the meal was ok although the eating area could have had more subtle lighting,
Breakfast is the same as in other Holiday inns as its complimentary and I had too much!

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the main road
