Stopped here over the weekend while visiting Canterbury.Service was excellent hotel was very clean and complimentary breakfast was adequate,a good nights sleep had by all.The staff were very friendly.Exceptional value .

2 days, one night in Canterbury. The Holiday Inn is very clean, comfortable and the staff were very welcoming. Breakfast was slightly disappointing and the hotel too far out of town but for one night was great. Overall a good report.

Stayed in November 2013 and the HIE took £236 as a pre-authorisation which they admitted was due to a staff error. It took nearly 10 days for this to be released.

Staff did not seem as if they knew what they were doing and the rooms were dated and old. For the price, you can find much better hotels in the centre of Canterbury which also have free parking.

Hotel needs a revamp and a clear up of it's pre-authorisation system.

Ideal for visiting Canterbury. Stayed for three nights, very clean and staff very helpful. We had dinner at hotel on one night, good choice and value for money.

If you have time have a look round am sure you find something better locally ! If not you will get a basic room basic food basic service !! Handy location .Good free parking .. Clean room. But i will not return

About as close to Canterbury as Ryanair's airport locations this is not much more than a Days Inn. On A2 there is nothing around, Canterbury is definitely not walkable along a major road and no public transport. Compared to the new versions of this chain around Europe this one really shows it's age.

Good value between Xmas and new year on way to channel tunnel which is just 30 mins drive away.

First impressions not great. Arrived at 1400. After waiting at reception for 10 mins before anyone even acknowledged us, a very surly Eastern European woman asked us to wait for a few minutes whilst she dealt with some other customers. Finally at about 1420 we asked if were able to check in early (normal check in is 3pm). Surly woman tells is abruptly that she cannot find out if rooms are ready or not and come back after 3pm. Sorry HIE, at Premier Inn, staff welcome you with a smile and can't go out of their way enough to help and will always check you in early if rooms are available. Not a good start to our visit...

Anyway returning at 1800 misery guys has gone off duty and a lovely Asian guy checks us in with a smile, room with extra sofa bed is fine, very comfortable, se road noise but not too bad and didn't stop me sleeping. Free wifi worked great, had a beer in the bar after coming back from dinner in Canterbury, again staff great.

Breakfast first thing fine, sausages obviously cheap but as we paid £45 for the night for 2 adults and 1 child inc breakfast I was happy enough with what was provided.

In summary, if you get a good price this is a very good option as a stop over on the way to Dover/Folkestone I would happily stay here again if there were no cheap premier inn rooms available nearby. Just don't bother to try and check in before 3pm.
